The process of changing a car tire is easy, you take out the spare and replace it and this is over, but .. if you have not done this operation before .. you should be careful .. the mistake may cost you a lot, so let us help you with these tips that make you do the correct tire change process And safe.
1) Stay away from the traffic lanes
Once you hear the sound of the tire emptying, you should stop the car as far away from the traffic lane and the movement of cars as possible, find a flat and stable surface, stop the car and pull the handbrake, and if the transmission is manual in your car, you will need to leave it on the first gear.
2) Secure your place
Make sure to secure your stopping place as much as possible by lighting stop lights and using a light triangle or anything that makes you visible to pedestrians and ensures your protection.
3) Install the car
You need to prevent the car’s tires from moving, so you should look for a strong weight such as a brick or a large rock or anything to put behind one of the sound tires in the event that the car is standing on an uphill road, and in the case of it is a sloping road, place the template in front of the tire.
4) Remove the tire cover and loosen the mounting bolts
You will need to remove the tire cover so that you can access the tire mounting screws, which you will loosen with a loosening wrench and turn the screws counterclockwise, and since they will be tight, you will need to make some effort, and be sure to loosen all the screws without loosening them completely.
5) Place the lever
After completing the previous step, use the crane, as you will find in the underside of the car a solid spot to put the crane under it, and do not place it under the plastic parts so as not to expose the car to damage, and it is preferable to review the car’s manual to find out the best places to put the crane.
6) Lift the car
Once the crane is positioned properly, move its lever clockwise to raise it until you find that the tire is no longer touching the ground in such a way that you can remove it and place a tire instead.
7) Remove the frame
Now that you have lifted the car, completely loosen the bolts and remove the empty tire, bearing in mind that it is heavy, and place it on the ground.
8) Install the spare tire
Take out the spare tire from the trunk of the car or from the place where you put it and place it in the place of the empty tire, making the holes in the metal part of it exactly above the two screw holes, and make sure that the air valve protrudes out, and after installing it, put the screws and tighten them by hand.
9) Unload the car
After you have installed the screws, use the boom lever and move it counterclockwise so that it lands completely on the ground.
10) Tighten the fastening screws
Use the wrench to make sure that the fastening screws are as tight as possible, and if they are 4 nails, be sure to fasten the first and third screws located in the opposite corner so that the fastening arrangement is “1-3-2-4”. In case they are more than 4, make sure that Tightness is equal.
11) Go safe
After the spare tire is installed, you can proceed, but you should know that the spare tire is not a substitute for the primary tire, so you must repair the primary tire or purchase a new tire in the event that the empty tire cannot be repaired and installed instead of the spare.
