Electronic brake, as some call it EPB , is one of the new technologies added to the car as one of the protection and safety technologies.
It was first used in 2002 in a BMW car , then other companies followed.
What is the difference between an electronic brake and a regular manual brake?
Many believe that the electronic brake has the same function as the regular brake, which stabilizes the car to prevent it from moving when it is parked.
But it differs from the regular brakes, as the electronic brake works to stop all the tires, not just the rear as in the manual brake. In addition, when the electronic brake is engaged, the tail lights illuminate to draw the attention of the rear passengers.
Electronic brake functions and their importance?
1- The brakes stop the car when it is necessary to stop the car and not move it, when it is parked on slope roads.
2- It is called the emergency brake because it works to stop the four wheels at one time, so it works as an alternative to the normal brake when it is damaged.
3- The electronic brake button stops the car, no matter its speed, as it stops it immediately.
How to use the electronic brake The electronic brake is
used in an easy way. When you pull the button up, it is activated and you will know that from the car dashboard where the P sign appears .
To cancel its operation, you press the same button, but down, and this will cancel its work and you can move the car.

While driving the car, do not apply the emergency brake suddenly, because this will lead to stopping the car immediately and not gradually, because the electronic brake force cannot be controlled like normal brakes using the pedal.
