Kia sold more than 701,416 cars in 2021
With Kia moving to the new design phase, its cars and SUVs are becoming more modern and attractive to consumers. The all-new Telluride has consistently won accolades since its debut, and other vehicles such as the Sportage, Celtos, Nero EV and Forte have impressed critics and consumers alike. So, it should come as no surprise that Kia announced its best sales year in the company’s history for 2021.
With the all-new, all-electric EV6 and all-new Sportage arriving in the first half of 2022, it’s clear we’re ‘shooting out all the petrol…and battery cells’.
In all, KIA sold
701,416 units in 2021 , breaking its previous record of 647,598 units sold in 2016. The best month for sales was in May when the automaker sold a whopping 80,298 units.
Throughout the year, the most popular models were the Kia Telluride, Forte, Niro EV, Celtos and Sportage.
However, the modified Optima, now called the K5, wasn’t too far behind in sales numbers.
The Korean manufacturer also reported a significant increase in battery and hybrid cars, with sales up 97% year over year.
The brand currently offers six models in these segments, including the Niro Hybrid, Niro PHEV, Niro EV, Sorento Hybrid, Sorento PHEV and the all-new EV6.
In fact, it was recently announced that the 2022 Kia EV6 has an EPA-certified electric range of 310 miles, making it even more attractive.

KIA has also focused on the technology and safety systems it puts into its vehicles .
The company has renamed its infotainment system “Kia Connect” with a host of exciting updates and new features.
Not only that, but the brand has put more Kia Drive Wise driver assistance systems as standard on many of its newer models.

The only thing we can do now is wait and see what comes next from the automaker.
