The 2022 Kia Telluride separates itself from the three-row and mid-size crossover herd with its elegant looks complemented by unexpected luxury and unbeatable value. Of course, Kia carries out its core mission flawlessly, providing a way to comfortably transport families. With a tough exterior and rich interior, the 2022 Kia Telluride will not appear out of place and will be shown in showrooms alongside Land Rover. Accompanied by a suite of standard active safety features.
Its 291-horsepower V-6 isn’t fuel efficient, but it’s great to drive.
They can effortlessly tow a 5,000-pound trailer, and the four-wheel drive models can handle uneven terrain with ease.
The 2022 Veteluride is simply the gold standard in its class and ranks among the Top Ten Cars of 2022.
What’s new in the 2022 Kia Telluride?

For 2022, Kia brings its new Telluride badge, with the company’s badge appearing on the redesigned grille, tailgate and steering wheel, with a 10.3-inch screen and fully automatic climate control.
Both models now come with adaptive cruise control to actively adjust the vehicle’s speed when entering and exiting corners.
Kia Telluride 2022
We tested the 2022 Telluride SX V6 AWD to make sure it was a comfortable, capable, dependable family car, and if there were any shortcomings, we really liked the Telluride after several thousand miles behind the wheel.

Engine, transmission and performance of the 2022 Kia Telluride
For the new year, the powertrain in the 2022 Kia Telluride remains unchanged, and that’s not necessarily bad.
The 3.8-liter V6 engine produces 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque.
We’d still like to see a turbocharger added at some point, but the current setup provides enough power to get it moving.
The Hyundai Palisade shares the same powertrain, and neither is likely to change it unless Honda Pilot upgrades the slightly weaker V6 configuration.

The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission that feeds the front wheels in a standard format – and all-wheel drive is optional on all trims.
The 2022 Kia Telluride is the best in its class, and we tested it from 0-60mph in 7.1 seconds.
You also can’t choose an alternative to the eight-speed automatic transmission, but you can swap out the standard front-wheel drive system for AWD continuous all-wheel drive—not to be confused with off-road-focused AWD systems.

The big Kia didn’t feel as responsive to the throttle at low speeds as some of its turbocharged competitors did.
The 2022 Kia Telluride ride is located on the fixed side, and a self-levelling rear air suspension is also available.
The brakes are excellent and the steering is precise with a nice heft to feel.
With a ground clearance of 8.0 inches, the Kia Telluride is a good vehicle for simple off-road excursions, and can tow up to 5,000 pounds.
Exterior design of the Kia Telluride 2022
To credit for pioneering a bold new design language for the brand, Kia stands out among traditional competitors in the sector.
However, that didn’t stop Kia from introducing the Nightfall Edition to make it a bolder SUV.
The LX and EX models ride a bit easier with 18-inch wheels, while the S and SX models have larger 20-inch wheels.
The S and EX models are equipped with a power sunroof, while the higher grades have dual sunroofs.
The base-level headlights can also be upgraded to LED packages on the EX, and LED fog lights are standard only on the SX.
Dimensions of the Kia Telluride 2022
Although it seats eight passengers, it is not a huge car.
It has an overall length of 196.9 inches which makes it match its main competitors, the Honda Pilot and Hyundai Palisade.
The wheelbase of 114.2 inches means the cabin is large enough to accommodate a large family.
The height ranges from 68.9 to 69.3 inches.

The narrow parking lot is just right, with a width of 78.3 inches.
It weighs between 4,112 and 4,482 pounds.
Although it doesn’t have the best approach and departure angles, it is capable of handling rough terrain with a ground clearance of 8 inches.
Interior Design of the Kia Telluride 2022
No matter what people think about the 2022 Kia Telluride’s bold exterior, its interior is undoubtedly refined and comfortable.
The build quality is excellent, the materials are attractive, and the desirable features are plentiful.
The SX tops it all with the most fanciful options that include driver-seat memory settings, a head-up display, heated and ventilated rear seats, premium headliner and Nappa leather upholstery.

Since the Telluride is several inches longer than the seven-passenger Kia Sorento, its cabin is more spacious, especially for those in the back seat.
There is room for eight with second-row seating or room for seven with optional captain’s chairs.
Besides ample internal storage throughout the cabin, we were able to fit four handbags behind the third row and stuff a total of 35 handbags with the two back rows folded flat.
For interior space, comfort and seats for the Kia Telluride 2022
The third-row SUV is known for its passenger capacity, and this is where the 3-row Kia Telluride stands out from the competition.
All three rows are really usable, although the first and second rows naturally get the lion’s share of head and leg space.
Reaching the third row of the Kia Telluride is easy, too, thanks to the second-row one-touch sliding and folding feature.

While swapping the center seat for the captain’s seats on the S and SX grades makes this simpler, though, it does reduce the capacity from eight to seven.
The front seats are electrically adjustable – in eight directions for the driver on LX, S and EX, and in eight directions on the SX.
The electric passenger seat adjusts in four directions on the LX and S and eight-way on the EX and SX.
Heating/cooling is available for both first and second rows, depending on the model.
2022 Kia Telluride Performance
Given how big the car is, we certainly wouldn’t mind seeing it equipped with a slightly more efficient powertrain, but the naturally aspirated V6 isn’t disappointing.
While many manufacturers are phasing out their six-cylinder setup in favor of turbocharged four-cylinder engines.
It never made me feel powerful.
Once you reach the top speed, you cruise in complete comfort.

Although designed to transport the family around town or across the country safely, Telluride doesn’t slouch on the road.
The light steering in Comfort makes city life cool, but flip the switch to Sport, and it tightens a little more for a little more feel.
No matter where it is, you certainly won’t break any speed records.

It provides a smooth ride, with most minor road scrapes going unnoticed by passengers.
It can even go off-road, when necessary, while still keeping plenty of its balance.
There is also no real effect of AWD on engine performance, and the Korean car does a very good job of getting around town without a problem.
But it takes a little patience to speed up or overtake cars on the highway.

It never feels bulky as it handles great despite its large dimensions.
It’s not sporty, however, and enthusiasts will have more fun behind the wheel of the Mazda CX-9.
The engineers definitely had a goal in mind when they designed the Telluride: to provide a comfortable driving and riding experience for the whole family.
And they certainly did, even though it feels undersized.
Information, entertainment and communication

The 2022 Kia Telluride boasts a powerful infotainment system that features a 10.3-inch touchscreen display with popular content that includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities along with several power points.
It also comes with a 10-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a 110-volt power inverter, and wireless smartphone charging.
With Driver Talk, available on EX and SX grades, the driver’s voice is amplified through speakers in the two rear rows to better communicate with any passenger.
Fuel Economy For Kia Telluride 2022
Unlike many competing three-row SUVs, the Kia Telluride is only offered with a V-6 engine.
The EPA estimates that the front-wheel drive version is the most economical, with ratings of 20 mpg city and 26 mpg highway.
All-wheel drive models drop to 19 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.

It’s better economical than V-6 competitors like the Volkswagen Atlas and slightly less than the Honda Pilot.
The all-wheel drive Kia Telluride we tested achieved 24 mpg.

The car we recommend to you after our review

The Telluride is such a value that we choose the SX model best in its class.
It comes standard with flashy features like the 12-way power driver’s seat, 20-inch wheels painted black, Harman Kardon stereo, front and rear sunroofs, and captain’s row seats.
And for those who want the added sense of security that comes with all-wheel drive, they can get it for an additional $1,900.
Kia has improved the Telluride with the SX Prestige package that offers a head-up display, heated and ventilated second-row seats, nappa leather upholstery and more.
The hitch and self-leveling rear suspension are also a worthwhile addition.
