2023 honda hr v teaser front

2023 Honda HR-V design studio leaked and first SUV sketches revealed

Honda is celebrating the new year by giving us a sneak peek at the 2023 Honda HR-V.

Scheduled to debut later this year, the 2023 Honda HR-V promises to be a “sports and versatile” crossover unique in North America. It is immediately evident from these teaser images that the 2023 Honda HR-V takes the form of an American-spec model and is completely different from the International variant introduced in 2021. You can review and compare the images for the 2022 edition on Mallaky.com .

Honda is keeping its silence , but its teasers give us a complete picture that the 2023 Honda HR-V will take a more unmistakable Ford Escape shape, with both models featuring an oval grille and swiftback headlights. However, the HR-V has a more aggressive front bumper with a black surround that mirrors the same surround as the Civic.

Looking back, we can see a carefully sculpted hood, a prominent shoulder line, and a graceful body. The model also avoids the hidden rear door handles found in the International variant of a more traditional setup.

The final touches of the 2023 Honda HR-V are the angular rear window and elegant taillights with aerodynamic element. They are joined by a two-tone bumper, but it lacks an exhaust port.

Specs are still uncertain, but the outgoing model had a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that produced 141 hp (105 kW / 143 hp) and 127 pound-feet of torque (172 Nm). It will be replaced by the 2.0-liter Civic four-cylinder engine, which produces 158 hp (118 kW / 160 hp) and 138 lb-ft (187 Nm) of torque.

No matter what’s under the hood, the HR-V is such an important model for Honda that the company sold 137,090 units in the US alone last year. This makes the HR-V the third best-selling truck/utility vehicle, and it also means that competitors that have outsold older crossovers such as the Chevrolet Trailblazer and Subaru Crosstrek.

Price: We expect the starting price of the 2023 Honda HR-V to begin at approximately $23,000, while range-topping versions should hover right around $30,000.
