Specifications of the all-new Kia Sportage Coupe 2022

Earlier this year, the Korean company Kia presented a set of teaser images of the latest version of the Kia Sportage Coupe 2022, which is a European version with distinctive specifications.

Now, about three months later, this car has appeared in Europe and is an upgraded SUV with its new and fifth generation that was first launched 28 years ago.

Several exceptional features are available for the European version of the Kia Sportage, the most important of which are high capabilities, spacious interior spaces, modern appearance, safety factors, entertainment and comfort with visual upgrades and a range of available customization options.

It is a compact sports crossover for European markets that relies on the standard front-wheel drive system, and four-wheel drive is also available with a variety of engines.

The European version comes smaller than the already redesigned model for the global markets that we saw 3 months ago by 145 mm, reaching 4,515 meters in length with a wheelbase of 2.68 meters compared to 2,755 meters for the global model.

It competes with many cars, most notably Hyundai Tucson, Nissan Qashqai and Volkswagen Tiguan.

The price of the Kia Sportage model 2022

It will be available at a starting price of 25 thousand US dollars, equivalent to 94 thousand Saudi riyals, without shipping fees.

EXTERIOR DESIGN

• It comes with a familiar front end but there are some changes to the rear on the A-pillar with a shorter wheelbase.
• The 2022 Kia Sportage Coupe features a muscular, powerful exterior and sporty look with the Opposites United design philosophy, sharp lines on the hood and a black, coupe-like rear-facing roof with black roof bars, deeply creased doors and a more pronounced C-pillar.
• With a distinctive front fascia design and a large grille with a unique hexagonal pattern extending across the front, surrounded on the sides by Matrix LED headlights in the shape of the letter Z and elegant LED daytime running lights in the form of boomerang.
• With a sportier, more streamlined front bumper with a lower section with a different design that includes a lower grille, a new position for fog lights and chrome trim around the windows, side sills and door handles.
• It features a muscular fastback rear with LED lights, a slim horizontal design, a curved rear spoiler, and no third quarter glass.
• The car stands on new sporty wheels with a star deflector design ranging in size from 17 to 19 inches with 6 choices of rims in different designs and colors.

Interior Design

• It has a very elegant and comfortable interior with an interior made of high-quality soft-touch materials with metal wood accents, and carbon fiber trim on the dashboard.
• The cabin offers plenty of space, leather seats, heated and ventilated front sports seats and chrome accents on the multifunction sports steering wheel with a flat bottom.
• It was equipped with two 12.3-inch screens inside a piece of glass, one of which is a touch screen for information and entertainment that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the other is curved for the dashboard that sits behind the steering wheel.
• The latest technologies and luxuries such as a built-in navigation system, wireless charging for phones, a panoramic sunroof, climate control and electronic mirror control are also available.

Safety and security factors

• The car is equipped with a variety of safety and security factors to provide the best driving and handling characteristics for European roads, most notably the automatic emergency braking system and lane departure warning with start-up system in cooperation with ADAS technology.
• Also available is Forward Collision-Avoidance, Lane Keeping Assist and Blind Spot Monitoring with adaptive cruise control that communicates with navigation data.

• Engine options are still uncertain, but the 2022 Kia Sportage Coupe is expected to rely mechanically on the same options as the international model of gasoline and diesel engines, in addition to a hybrid power system to save fuel consumption and reduce emissions.
• The 1.6-liter (1600 cc) four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine is available for higher performance, generating 177 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque, mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
• Also available is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo diesel engine that delivers 183 horsepower and 417 Nm (308 pound-feet) of torque, mated to a performance 8-speed automatic transmission.
• In addition to the Sportage Hybrid, which combines a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine powered by a turbocharger with an electric motor that draws its power from a lithium-ion battery with a power of 13.8 kWh and a power of 91 hp (67 kW), the two together produce a total power of 226 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque.

The base model 2022 Kia Sportage, the LX, costs $24,090. This comes with a 181-horsepower four-cylinder engine. You can always upgrade to one of the higher trims, though. The 2022 Sportage Nightfall Edition costs $28,090, while the Sportage EX comes in at $28,390.
