Car tires are one of the important parts of the car, and many young people today often resort to replacing car rims with large rims, in order to improve the overall appearance of the car, but there are many consequences as a result of taking that step.
 
Advantages of large rims

• Increases the stability of the car on the road, as small tires, of course, have a lot of advantages and provide stability, but at a lower rate than large rims on the road, where large tires are the most stable on the road.
• Reduces the stopping distance as these tires stop the car from moving after a very short period after pressing the brakes compared to small tires, due to the increased size of the tires in contact with the road.
• It gives the car an attractive appearance, as those large wheels give a more sporty and attractive look, but the person has to make sure that this step is somewhat expensive.

Disadvantages of large rims

• Increases fuel consumption, the larger the size of the rims, the greater the weight of the car, which reduces the rate of acceleration, and there is a noticeable increase in the car’s fuel consumption.
• It reduces the rate of car acceleration, the larger the size of the rims, the greater the rate of pressure on the car’s engine, and thus affects the car’s acceleration rate.
• Increased operating cost As it is costly to replace old tires with larger tires.
• Lack of comfort inside the car. When you enlarge the car tires, you have to make sure that the comfort element in the car’s interior will be missing, as a natural result of the rigidity of the large wheels and their absorption of road bumps to increase their size, and there is a solution to avoid this problem through the suspension system, but it is complicated and a little expensive.
