Starting at $37,365Verdict Like the Telluride SUV, the Stinger is yet another near-premium arrow in Kia’s quiver.
We know that when it comes to sports cars – and for sports car enthusiasts more specifically, in this case, sports sedans or otherwise are part of their enthusiast’s choice – and a host of other options preoccupy them,
2022 Stinger PE Is strength the only optionBut fuel economy is not on the minds of most buyers.
Because they want something more noisy and less mundane than the Toyota Corolla, Camry and other such cars in the world.
But isn’t it nice to know that sometimes
you can have the best of both worlds ?
It seems that people who worked on the 2022 Kia Stinger believe that the gasoline consumption option could be a new option for sports car enthusiasts.
From the
Korean manufacturer KIA Motors .
2022 Stinger PEDespite replacing
its older, less powerful 2.0-liter I-4 turbocharged engine with a newer, larger 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, the updated 2022 Stinger four-cylinder engine now returns with 22 mpg savings in the city, 35 liters of fuel savings on the highway,
and 25 combined gasoline savings, calculated according to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) testing.
A major advance over the model, the
outgoing Stinger I-4 couldn’t break and save 30 mpg on the highway, plus it was producing just 255 horsepower in its stable even though it had a 2-liter capacity while the new version had a 2.5-liter capacity.
2022 Stinger PEIf all-wheel drive is selected, the fuel economy figures for the 2022 Kia Stinger 2.5T will drop to 21/29/24.
As expected, but the 368-hp twin-turbo V-6 from Kia Stinger GT models still drinks fuel much faster than its four-cylinder counterpart, and the Stinger GT’s rear-wheel drive rating is EPA at 18/18. 25/20 mpg and the all-wheel drive model has 17/24/20 mpg speed.
If full power is what you’re after, get the six-cylinder Stinger GT.
However, if you’re looking for a great combination of speed and efficiency, you might get better service than the cheaper four-cylinder Stinger.
