How to prevent car windshield scratches

On top of failing to do their only job, old windshield wipers can also scratch your windshield.
 Here are some simple tips and tricks to help you avoid scratches on car windshields.

We start by cleaning the windshield of the car. 
If your windshield is very dirty, use your wiper by cleaning the dirt with a cloth, this way the wiper blades do not need to drag pebbles on the glass, which can cause scratches in the glass.
When stopping to fill up, make it a part of your windshield washing routine or wiper blades. This simple step greatly reduces the possibility of car windshield scratches.

Use wipers only on wet windshields

It’s not wise to run wipers on a dry windshield, especially if they are dirty as well. Make sure there is enough moisture on the glass before you hit the wiper blade switch.

Keep the wiper fluid reservoir full
One way to make sure you never need to run wipers on a dry windshield is to keep the wiper fluid reservoir full.
Check the fluid level frequently especially in seasons when you expect a lot of windshield wipers such as rain in the summer winter.

Replace worn out wiper blades immediately

Wiper blades work hard, which means they are worn. To avoid scratches on your car windshield, check your wiper blades regularly to make sure they are working properly. If they are not, you will have to buy new ones.

These types of scratches may call for the entire windshield to be replaced. Although it may be expensive, it is essential for your safety on the road.
