Dodge Hornet 2023 . price and specifications

A set of leaked spy footage has been captured of the prototype 2023 Dodge Hornet as it was tested under camouflage.

Classified as a compact SUV, it is the company’s first SUV with the help of Alfa Romeo.

This new car, which was seen being tested in the US state of Michigan, comes from the American brand Dodge, owned by the Stellantis group.

Dodge Hornet 2023

The Dodge Hornet belongs to the compact sports crossover category, which is expected to officially debut later during the fourth quarter of 2022 (August).

Leaked images from a video showed the new American car inside the Stellantis assembly plant looking like a clone of the Alfa Romeo Tonale that shares the same platform, as it will be based on the architecture of the Stellantis Small Wide 4×4 LWB, with dimensions similar to those of the Tonale.

The newest 2023 Dodge is smaller than the Alfa Romeo Stelvio and smaller than the mid-size Durango, and it competes against rivals such as the Kia Seltos, Mazda CX-30 and Volkswagen Taos.

EXTERIOR DESIGN

  • The exterior design of the first model is covered by a camouflaged cover through spy photos, but the car is clearly inspired by the 2023 Tonali, the first production hybrid car from Alfa Romeo.
  • Although still hidden under camouflage, most of the design elements and details can be seen taken from Italy’s Alfa Romeo Tonali, where it shares most of its body panels with the Italian SUV.
  • The styling differences seem to be limited to the front grille, which replaces the grille with a more traditional one, the bumper, the interior parts of the LED headlights are slightly changed, and the new hood with slight scoops for the hood, somewhat similar to the Durango performance models with new air intakes and wheel patterns The car is based on smaller five-spoke tires.
  • It looks like both models will also share the same ACC in the lower front part of the fascia, and the side profile, too, looks identical to the Tonale.
  • Moving to the rear of the car, it again looks very close to the Tonale, as you’ll get slim taillights that come with LED lights that look the same as the Alfa’s design and the lower part of the rear bumper but feature more gray plastic than the Alfa.
  • We’ll likely see a few different elements in the cabin of the 2023 Dodge Hornet, but it’s disappointing to see that Dodge is no different in some way as both models will be competing against each other in some markets.

mechanical specifications

  • In terms of the powertrain, there aren’t any stickers available that would say it will be a hybrid, but we already know that the Dodge Hornet will be offered as a hybrid.
  • We learned that America’s first powertrain choice was the two-liter GME-T4 four-cylinder turbocharged engine, common to a number of current Stellantis, producing 256 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque mated to a ZF automatic transmission from 9-speed geared all-wheel drive is standard, with an additional hybrid option available with approximately 30 miles of electric driving range.
  • The plug-in hybrid PHEV setup combines the work of a fuel-efficient 1.3-liter turbocharged petrol engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, with an electric motor of the same power as the Italian Tonale and a high-voltage lithium-ion battery pack on the axle. At the rear, it produces 15.5 kW/h, which produces less than 272 hp (203 kW) from the two engines working together.
  • It allows it to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in just 6.2 seconds, with an all-electric range of 50 miles (80 km).
  • We think a Dodge Hornet EV electric option could appear in the future, although nothing is official yet.

2023 dodge hornet price

  • Pricing has not yet been announced, as the company will reveal the price of the new 2023 Dodge Hornet as its launch date approaches, and a production version is expected to appear for the first time before the end of 2022, with deliveries to begin in 2023.
