What you won’t find in it in an SUV is the V-6 or the V-8.
Instead, the Sienna is offered exclusively as a hybrid;

While most buyers won’t miss the added excitement of the Honda Odyssey’s V-6 engine, some may find that the Sienna’s interior may not look as practical as the Chrysler Pacifica’s.
The Toyota Sienna 2022 houses a 2.5-liter hybrid four-cylinder engine.
All 2022 Toyota Sienna vehicles come equipped with this hybrid powertrain only, a first in the minivan segment.
We’ve been used to the Mini in shape since the mid-twenties, but the Toyota Sienna 2022 has broken that mould.
Our testing showed it was capable of 40 mpg with a range of over 750km or 500 miles per tank.
What’s new for Toyota Sienna for 2022?
Toyota added a Woodland Edition to its 2022 Toyota Sienna lineup. It comes standard with 4WD and has a 0.6-inch lift kit to give it better ground clearance.
The Woodland Edition also includes a range of accessories meant to make life easier, including a rooftop rack, hitch and 1500W power outlet.
Is Toyota Sienna good?
The Toyota Sienna 2022 is generally a good minivan.
A member of the minivan family, the Sienna has a spacious and refined cabin that can accommodate up to eight passengers.
It’s reasonably comfortable and agile to drive, and its hybrid powertrain promises excellent fuel economy of up to 36 mpg city/highway.
The Sienna also comes packed with standard tech and safety features, and is one of the few minivans to offer all-wheel drive.
However, the Sienna has less cargo space than its competitors, and offers moderate acceleration on the highway.
Engine and Transmission Performance in Toyota Sienna
Unlike previous versions of the Toyota Sienna family, the 2022 Sienna is offered exclusively as a hybrid.
The powertrain consists of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine and a pair of electric motors that combine to produce 243 horsepower.
An all-wheel drive system is available that calls for the addition of a third electric motor at the rear that drives the rear wheels.
The Sienna’s main competitor – the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid – is offered with front-wheel drive, but its V6 and electric motors generate 260 horsepower.
Indeed, the all-wheel-drive Sienna Platinum failed to excite us during the acceleration test, requiring 7.7 seconds to reach 60 mph, and completing the quarter mile in 15.8 seconds at just 88 mph;
Similar to those provided by the Pacifica Hybrid, the Toyota Sienna is much slower than the non-hybrid Pacifica models we tested as well as the Honda Odyssey.
Toyota Sienna maintenance expenses and Toyota Sienna 2022 operating costs
According to our review of users and complaints from the Sienna, we did not find errors and large maintenance costs other than periodic maintenance, and during 5,000 miles Toyota Sienna 2022 did not need maintenance in this period other than tire rotation, and I replaced it from front to back at a cost not great.
Stability and handling of Toyota Sienna
How is it driving?

Off-road performance.
I’ve now driven a Toyota Sienna on dirt roads.
I didn’t find a problem, and did find it wobble a bit if I speeded up too much, but that kind of driving is rare because it has limited ground clearance.
“The only time the 4WD system started working noticeably was a few days later, and I was driving on a long, uphill road of loose gravel with one lane.
I actually switched the IP screen to see the front-to-back motion power distribution, the navigation screen zoomed in and I found the route I missed on the map.
I think the Toyota Sienna’s navigation system also deserves some credit for its accuracy.
The Toyota Sienna 2022 comes with a hybrid powertrain, and you can feel the resulting smoothness on the road.
However, depressing the gas pedal to increase speed on the highway lacks oomph.
Yes, that makes sense considering Sienna’s hefty weight.
Meanwhile, I found that the braking performance is adequate.
I felt the brakes grip but a smooth stop is almost impossible.
Additionally, you need to apply force on the brakes to slow down the Sienna from higher speeds.
“In my opinion, Toyota has the best adaptive cruise control (Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control) currently available.
I like its conservative response to traffic.
And as the car slows in front of me, Sienna quickly begins to brake gently.
The deceleration was gradual for a second or two and then the brakes were applied more aggressively.
I also found acceleration on the Toyota Sienna to be more comfortable than the others.
Toyota Sienna cabin interior design
The interior design of Siena is modern and elegant.
Instead of the open cockpit design of the previous generation, Toyota created a long center console that stretches from the dashboard to the center armrest, with a large storage compartment underneath.
Upscale Limited and Platinum models feature two-tone interior trim and instrument panels covered in stitched leather-like material,
The driver’s door armrest is not the height I want it to be.
No car makes child seat installation as easy as the Sienna, LATCH lower anchors are so easy to find.
The XSE Sport model gets black and white faux leather seats with red contrast accents.
And unlike the Honda Odyssey and Pacifica Hybrid, the Sienna’s second-row seats are non-removable;

Second-row seats front and back 25 inches to provide maximum legroom for rear-seat passengers, and the Limited and Platinum models can be had with reclining second-row seats.

I appreciate the front and rear view cameras in the Sienna.
But I cannot say that I am very impressed with the accuracy of the lighting, it is low.
I was expecting to see some competitive backup cameras.

Move your foot under the sensor twice quickly and the slider opens or closes.
I love the technology, but I don’t see this feature as feasible.

The Environmental Protection Agency estimates
that the 2022 Toyota Sienna Hybrid drives 35 mpg combined (35 city/36 highway).
And we met the EPA’s 35 mpg rating just twice.
And based on our experience, realistic consumption can be said to be 32 mpg on the highway.
This is a large number for a family car that outperforms most competitors.

Toyota offers blind spot monitoring and the Safety Sense 2.0 driver-assistance package standard on the new Sienna, while convenience items such as parking sensors and a 360-degree external camera system are optional.

Inside the Sienna cabin is where it all happens.

The center console provides ample space to store all your essentials, and four cup holders and a mobile phone holder add to the convenient storage amenities.
And a large storage area right under the gearbox is enough for a handbag.
The automatic leather seats have plenty of settings to ensure that anyone fits comfortably while driving.
Meanwhile, the second-row chairs can be adjusted backwards until the start of the third row and can be reclined almost completely, giving taller people enough legroom.
Information, entertainment and communication
Toyota’s latest infotainment interface is a 9.0-inch touchscreen that stands upright on the dashboard above the climate controls.
Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa connectivity features are all standard, and there are seven USB ports scattered across the truck cabin.
Toyota offers SiriusXM satellite radio and a Wi-Fi hotspot as well.
The basic stereo on the Toyota Sienna is a 6-speaker setup;
The XLE gets eight speakers.
JBL’s 12-speaker stereo system is optional on XLE and XSE and standard on Limited and Platinum grades.
The dashboard navigation is standard from the XSE;
The 11.6-inch rear-seat entertainment system is also optional on all LE models except the standard LE.
Warranty and maintenance coverage
The Kia Sedona offers longer coverage for both the power train and shock absorber warranty than the Toyota Sienna.
But Toyota makes up for a fairly basic warranty package with a two-year free maintenance plan.
