The Acura Integra has always been praised for its thrilling drive. We’ve even gone so far as to call it one of the best front-wheel drive maneuverable cars in the world. The powertrain is one of the best in the industry, with a shape that fits perfectly in the hand and a relatively short pitch between gears. With a fully independent four-wishbone suspension, front and rear stabilizer bars and a thickened steering wheel that provides excellent feedback on what’s going on below, the 2023 Acura Integra offers the same driving pleasure you get from the BMW 3 Series.

The 2023 Acura Integra has a starting price of $30,800, plus a destination fee of $1,095. In A-Spec form, the 2023 Integra begins at $32,800, while the A-Spec with Technology Package has a starting price of $35,800 — with a CVT or a 6-speed manual transmission.

Since its introduction in 1994, the current Acura Integra has provided many drivers – young and old, men and women – with a sporty, practical, reliable and fun drive. No other cars in the compact sports car market have the same longevity, style, or popularity. It’s also over the hills and the 2023 Acura Integra is still a great car. The 2023 Acura Integra offers more versatility and better handling than the Honda Civic Si associated with it .

When the Acura Integra 2023 appeared 
as a pre-production prototype in yellow, consumer expectations were lost. 
Now that we’ve seen the final production model without the body graphics, I think it actually looks pretty good. 
Sure, Acura could have done more to make the Integra’s look more special, especially alongside the brand’s good-looking TLX, but there’s a good effort the front end looks elegant and cool.

The Acura Integra 2023 has a gradual slope that makes it look like a fastback or even a sedan. 
The brand’s tapered nose, five-sided grille and prominent body folds fit well with the hatchback’s shape for a sporty, upscale look.

With the brand’s five-sided grille at the front and familiar creases along the chassis. 
The rear end honors the previous RSX and Integra, but the gradual slope of the hatch gives the car the appearance of a Fastback rather than the pure hatchback design of the past. 
The Pentagon grille is proudly seated at the front. 
Flanking the grille are a pair of Jewel Eye LED headlights that match the brand’s signature Chicane LED daytime running lights.

It also has a sleek profile thanks to its clean sheet metal and sloping roofline, giving it a tailgating rear end. 
Oh, it looks like a sedan with a distinctive rounded end, like a Kia Stinger and any number of Audis. 
Like the Acura TLX, the Integra features a long dash-to-axle ratio with a lowered and long hood that dips into its crest-shaped grille. 
The front end looks crowded with creases and cuts, and streamlined lights create a distinctive shape in the corners that Acura calls “Chicane.”

The rear end of the 2023 Acura Integra is different from other Acuras. 
The hatch is squatted over the dual exhaust pipes, and matches the Chicane LED taillights at the rear. 
It’s about the same height as a restyled 2022 Honda Civic, but it’s a bit wider and an inch longer than the Civic C sedan.
Powertrain For Acura Integra 2023
The new 2023 Acura Integra is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that the Honda Civic C shares and produces 200 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque from 1,800 to 5,000 rpm.

Steering power is sent to the front wheels, via a continuously variable transmission or a six-speed manual transmission, but you can only get the famous A-Spec stick with the Technology Package. 
Acura says 65% of pre-orders are for hand-fitted cars.

Naturally, I chose to spend most of my testing days in a manual Spec A package with the tech. 
The transmission is superior in feel and the clutch pedal is lightweight and easy to adjust, making driving engaging and fun. 
An automatic rev-matching feature for lower gears is also included,

It works fine, but you can turn it off – which is good for people like me who prefer to do the heel and toe pedal dance themselves. 
However, I would have liked a slightly faster throttle response to help shift the gears down to a lower gear.
Driving impressions of the Acura Integra 2023
Currently, the Integra’s engine generates 200 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque, mated to a variable transmission with a paddle transmission as standard. 
A 6-speed manual transmission is available and comes with a limited-slip helical differential for added stability in and out of turns.

The 2023 Acura Integra shares independent suspension components with the Civic, as well as MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear. 
And unlike the redesigned Civic, the Integra comes with A-Spec adaptive dampers with the Technology Package. 
The 2023 Acura Integra has a connected, essential feel on the road that is teamed with graceful movements for stability.
Acura Integra 2023 speed
It’s fairly fast. 
The 2023 Acura Integra takes a 0-60 mph time in the middle of the 6-second range. 
This power is even easier to harness with the six-speed manual transmission available on the top model. 
It has short, positive transmissions that have a light touch, and the clutch is also light and easy to adjust.

The other option is a CVT-type transmission with seven simulated gear ratios. 
The transmission sways while shifting its stepper gear when it is pressed, although the transmission’s sport mode is in normal city travel, but it makes the CVT fade into the background and won’t bother drivers and they won’t please them.

Feeling behind the wheel is the 2023 Acura Integra’s greatest strength, especially in the A-Spec with Technology Package model with adaptive dampers. 
Acura manages to balance ride quality and agility just right.

The 2023 Acura Integra feels so planted in the ground that it feels heavier than its 3,100-pound weight would suggest. 
Adaptive dampers smooth out bumps, even in sporty mode, while contributing to the car’s agility.
The handling and stability of the Acura Integra 2023
While it’s fun tossing a 2023 Acura Integra on a twisty road, even with the lighter, less connected feel of the base cars the dampers play an important role, without those, the 2023 Acura Integra wouldn’t be a performance car.

The Integra has 235/40R18 tires with good grip that makes it lively in turns, and the brakes are too small for long periods of valley carving or track driving. 
A good suspension helps it absorb bumps.

The switch to a hatchback body style is a boon to the interior space of the 2023 Acura Integra. 
The cabin benefits from comfortable front seats and a spacious rear cargo area, but the rear seat has issues despite having plenty of legroom.

The interior combines Acura’s sleek, layered gauges with a stylish 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster with aluminum air vents that work well in the Civic, and accentuated by the climate control dials. 
The infotainment interface with Acura’s touchpad is not welcome, as a touch screen is used instead. 
With a subdued look of ebony, but Orchid, Greystone, and especially red add contrast and visual vibrancy.
Comfort and driving position in the Acura Integra 2023
A longer wheelbase and switch to a hatchback body style improve interior space. 
The luggage space is nearly doubled, and the rear seat adds legroom compared to its predecessor, but is still uncomfortable. 
Acura fits the ILX with well-bolstered seats with standard eight-way power steering for the driver.

The Spec A option adds four lumbar adjustments for better back support, and four-way electric base adjustments for the passenger seat. 
The front row has good space in all dimensions for the driver and passenger, larger or smaller.
Spaciousness and spaciousness in the cabin of the Acura Integra 2023
The rear seat has 37.4 inches of legroom, but the seat bottoms are too low to provide the thigh support needed for long-distance comfort. 
The Integra sleeps five, but the Integra isn’t roomy enough for three adults to fit comfortably in the back.

Although the hatch area is low, it delivers 24.3 cubic feet of cargo volume, nearly twice that of the ILX. 
The rear seats can also be folded, making the 2023 Acura Integra a practical alternative.

Interior materials fit the category. 
Soft-touch surfaces cover the armrests, door panels and dash, but nothing here goes the extra mile to indicate pure luxury.
The 2023 Acura Integra’s infotainment system
Cheer up, because the 2023 Acura Integra has a touchscreen instead of the somewhat frustrating Acura infotainment interface. 
Yes, the primary screen is small and even the 9.0-inch screen seems small these days. 
But the two screens are set close to the driver and are easy to control. 
I loved it, but we only used Apple CarPlay. 
But you need some time to live with Integra longer.

Inside, yes the Integra refused to adopt the brand’s information interface, instead giving it a touch screen that’s easier to use. 
The screen starts at 7.0 inches and there is a 9.0 inch version available. 
The display sits on top of an attractive, multi-layered instrument panel and matches an available 10.2-inch digital instrument panel and 5.3-inch display.

Fuel economy when paired with a CVT automatic transmission is slightly lower to 29/36/32 mpg on the A-Spec model.
