Volkswagen expands the production network of electric cars, as the German Volkswagen Group has officially started production of the ID.4 in Emden in Lower Saxony, thus becoming the second manufacturing facility for the model in Germany after ZWICKau, and joins with the Chinese company’s factories in Anting and Foshan .
Volkswagen expands electric vehicle production network globally

Several reports recently said that Volkswagen is expanding its electric vehicle production network globally by building a new industrial facility in Germany, and two car factories in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in the United States of America, and Hanover will also start joining the rest of the other industrial facilities by next fall. .
Thus, Volkswagen intends to produce the ID4 in five different locations worldwide, with the same model being produced at the other two factories in China based in Foshan and Anting.
The Volkswagen Group says that the expansion process it has started will enable the company to produce approximately 1.2 million electric vehicles annually, based on the modular matrix electric motor (MEB).

Volkswagen also says that the start of manufacturing in Emden, Germany, was on schedule, despite the difficulties and global challenges it faced, such as the shortage of raw materials, supplies and semi-transportation, and the disruption of supply chains, after two years of preparations and many investment packages.
Regarding investment packages, the company has already invested nearly one million euros in exchange for the conversion of the Emden plant, which employs about 8000 employees (transfer of the plant’s infrastructure).
The Volkswagen Group, on the other hand, intends to invest nearly 21 billion euros in Lower Saxony until 2026, thus making Germany a center for electric mobility within the federal state.
Volkswagen President: Expanding the production capacity of the ID.4 model is a key element of the company’s strategy

Following the announcement that the Volkswagen Group is expanding its production network of electric cars by starting production at its second plant in Germany, CEO Ralf Brandstätter said: “The rapid expansion of production capabilities for the successful ID.4 is a key element of the company’s (ACCELERATE) strategy. .
Ralph Brandstätter also emphasized that the expansion of the electric vehicle production network will greatly contribute to accelerating the transition to carbon-neutral mobility, and thus creating more capabilities to cover the increasing demand for electric vehicles .
He also noted that with the company’s clear commitment to location, the primary objective is to demonstrate that cost-effectiveness and competitiveness is not only possible in the region, but that the company can enhance this even in the long run.

According to Volkswagen’s plan (Volkswagen expands the production network of electric cars globally), the maximum production rate of ID.4 cars by the end of the year will be 800 cars per working day, but the realistic and actual result may not be like the plan, because This depends on other factors such as the extent of supply chain cooperation, in addition to the extent of the flow of raw materials, and therefore it can be said that the company will produce about 4,000 cars per week, and the annual production output will be in the range of 150 to 200,000 electric vehicles.
