The company tuned artificial shift points to create the illusion of a rolling transmission, and the overall effect is that the Mitsubishi Eclipse isn’t powerful enough, its sporty looks don’t translate into sporty performance. I felt the transmission resisting its movement. But the car isn’t stiff, and I feel there’s a noticeable body roll in the corners, the steering is lightweight and numb, which makes it good for city environments.
The steering is fairly light at low speeds, so maneuvering in a tight parking lot isn’t good, and at highway speeds, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross suspension does a good job of smoothing out bumps and ruts in the road.
Visibility and ride comfort for Mitsubishi Eclipse 2022
You get a good view of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross thanks to the ride height, and the relatively thin pillars next to the windshield make it easy to spot traffic approaching intersections. The thick rear pillars of Mitsubishi and the design of the separate rear window make the rear view not as good as in some other mid-size SUVs.
