BMW M4 CSL 2023 release date

BMW M4 CSL 2023 Exterior Design
The CSL will be available in the new Frozen Brooklyn Gray metallic, Alpine White or Sapphire Black metallic. And there are plenty of other elements in the car to really stand out, including the anniversary badge first used by BMW Motorsport in 1973.
For the first time, the German manufacturer has introduced a new “light string” technology in backlight units to form the distinctive L-shaped lighting element.
The bespoke bodywork serves multiple purposes on the exterior of the BMW M4 CSL 2023. The sculpted body enhances aerodynamic efficiency and reduces weight. The bespoke front end features a newly modified CFRP grille with fewer slats, contributing to an eight pound weight savings from essential design elements alone.
Below this, the front spoiler is also designed in carbon, with a carbon hood, roof, trunk lid and side skirts. The front air intakes are also specially designed to increase airflow, while the front bumper air curtains direct air toward cooling the brakes. The headlights feature yellow a-la M5 CS daytime running lights taken from BMW M racing cars, while the main beams use BMW Laserlight technology.
The rear of the BMW M4 CSL 2023 stands out thanks to the lightweight taillights combined with woven lighting filaments to create a subtle, never-before-seen design. The fine details are equally impressive, the trunk spoiler and badges are red in color and the M quad exhaust pipes are housed in a prominent diffuser. I forgot to tell you that the exhaust pipes are made of lightweight titanium, save 10 pounds, and are painted matte black with striped detailing.
The BMW M4 CSL 2023 forged light-alloy wheels 19″ front and 20″ rear feature a crossover design unique to the CSL. The wheels are held by carbon-ceramic brakes driven by red-painted calipers.
There are black stripes on the carbon-fibre bonnet, the stripes resemble recessed channels, grooved with red striping, the same red as the grille, side sills and carbon fiber roof.

The “L” in the CSL name stands for light weight, and BMW has worked hard to stay true to the name. Does the BMW M4 CSL deserve the badge without a heavy dose of performance improvement? of course not. The BMW M4 CSL is powered by the brand’s 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged engine. It produces 543 hp (404 kW), 40 hp more than the previous M4. The engine pumps out 479 lb-ft (649 Nm) of available torque from 2,750 to 5,950 rpm. BMW also increased the pressure from 24.7 psi to 30.5 psi.
BMW directs CSL power to the rear wheels via an eight-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission, connected to the carbon-fiber gearshift ‘paddle’ lever behind the steering wheel to operate the gearbox’s manual mode, allowing drivers to perform multiple shifts or reduce speed. Nor will the gearbox intervene to force higher transmissions when the car is in manual mode. Meaning it’s a real manual mode.
As for the power plant itself, the 2023 BMW M4 CSL engine is an evolution of the S58 engine in succession from the regular M4. Two turbochargers now boost 30.5 psi — up from 24.7 psi in the M4 competition — to generate an additional 40 horsepower. Total final output is 543 horsepower at 6250 rpm and 479 lb-ft of available torque from 2750-5950 rpm.

The body of the 2023 BMW M4 CSL has been improved in countless ways. Besides the aforementioned 0.3-inch drop in ride height, the new suspension comes standard with adaptive damping, model-specific steering calibration, and unique suspension settings for camber and damper ratings. Realistically, the M4 CSL beats the Nürburgring in 7 minutes 20.2 seconds, faster than any BMW series has ever produced or owned. However, the 2023 BMW M4 CSL has been designed for road use, making the standard M4 Competition high-performance tires available as an option.

There are stiffer anti-roll bars, a new aluminum strut at the front, and the rubber bushings at the rear have been replaced with metal ball joints.
The 2023 BMW M4 CSL is 100 kg lighter than the M4 Competition thanks to the extensive use of carbon fibres. To help it slow down on the track, carbon ceramic brakes are standard.

The car has carbon bucket seats exclusive to the 2023 BMW M4 CSL, the seats are without heating or cooling, electrically non-adjusting lumbar support, fixed backrest angle, removable headrests for the helmet wearer, black leather surface with red Alcantara inserts and contrast stitching. Should you wish, you can opt for the heated, electrically-adjustable front seats at no extra cost, which are still 21 pounds lighter than the standard seat heating system in the M4 Competition. There is no option for rear seats, only space to store two helmets.

These fixed back buckets are upholstered in Merino leather – in black – offset by red Alcantara and BMW M tri-colour contrast stitching on the seat bolsters and seat belts. The rear seat has been completely removed (saving another 46 pounds), and in its place you’ll find a cargo net to hold two racing helmets in place.
