The all-new Ford Focus 2022 comes with a revised design and mechanical modifications to rival the Volkswagen Polo. Starting at $30681, of course, it’s decent for upgrades. By avoiding visible changes, the most important thing is adding a hybrid system to increase fuel economy efficiency. The ST-Line got noticeable changes with a more aggressive look, lower bumper and larger grille.

Ford says that all new 2022 Ford Focus models have “unique design elements that express their individual personalities, and the Vignale Extended Package provides the highest levels of luxury and exclusive design.” As for its sales, the Focus has been one of Britain’s best-selling hatchbacks, and we think Ford can push the numbers up as the new 2022 Ford Focus looks great.

Ford gave the 2022 Ford Focus ST Edition a similar treatment to that given in the Fiesta ST Edition. 
With a bit of focus, you’ll find that the changes are nearly identical, with Vista-like application being the critical coil parts, dampers at every corner of the Performance Package ST equipped. 
The 19-inch wheels are Fiesta-like, with a bright blue paint job contrasting with the gloss black roof.

The power, performance and engine of the Ford Focus 2022
The powertrain in the 2022 Ford Focus remains largely unchanged, with a total of three front-wheel drive engine settings available. 
This includes a 1.0-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost, which is the base engine, and can be selected with a 48-volt mild-hybrid setup. 
Known as the Ecoboost Hybrid, it produces 123 hp or 153 hp and is now offered with a seven-speed automatic gearbox for the first time.

Ford offers a 1.5-liter two-cylinder EcoBlue diesel engine with 95 or 120 horsepower, and another EcoBoost engine that uses Ford’s supercharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder that only comes with the ST-Line model. 
The engine generates about 280 horsepower and is the most powerful in the group. 
Ford offered either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, one of which is mated to either the 1.0-liter and the 2.3-liter engines. 
However, the diesel engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic unit as an option in place of the DCT transmission.

The overall performance of the 2022 Ford Focus is, as expected, great for city and highway use. 
The slowest petrol engine is the 1.0 liter which takes about 12.2 seconds to reach 100 km/h or 62 mph. 
And with the 48-volt mild hybrid setup, acceleration time drops to 8.8 seconds. 
The 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine is the best in terms of real performance, and it goes from 0 to 62 mph in 5.7 seconds.

As for the driving modes for the all-new Ford Focus 2022, there are three driving modes: Normal, Sport and Eco. 
The driver has complete control over the response of the throttle, steering wheel and gearbox according to his comfort. 
While power is sent to an electronically controlled limited-slip differential on the front axle.

Driving impressions of the 2022 Ford Focus
The Ford Focus 2022 has for years been the standard by which other family car manufacturers design their vehicles for ride and handling characteristics. 
It may never have been the most expensive family car or luxury car, but the 2022 Ford Focus has been a strong contender for years. 
It’s still the same, and all Focus models had an advanced independent rear suspension, but now the 1.0 petrol and 1.5 diesel engines have a slightly cheaper setup.
And with this more advanced suspension, the Ford Focus 2022 is all about driving pleasure. 
In fact, it is the best family car. 
Its steering feels natural, the body control is great, and the car can stay grounded in turns and corners. 
The ST-Line also benefits from a slightly lowered suspension for better handling through tight bends, but without compromising the ride quality of the comfortable 2022 Ford Focus.

Perhaps the best news is that the cheaper 2022 Ford Focus suspension hasn’t affected it, the car is still very comfortable over bumps and crevices and feels wonderfully nimble for a family hatchback. 
And if you don’t really like to park, you have to use the parking assistance system that will take over. 
The 2022 Ford Focus is a decent performance car, and it looks nicely domesticated, unlike its smaller sibling, the Fiesta ST.

Vignale models have a standard head-up display, which isn’t available on cheap models. It doesn’t display the data on the windshield like some other cars, just a plastic screen above the instrument cluster. It’s clear, and it works well, the head-up display would have been better.
The Driver Assistance Package is affordable for the ST-Line X and higher and gives you traffic sign recognition and adaptive cruise control, with a system that will guide you to keep you in lane. 
But I find it a bit annoying, and causes the car to sometimes “bounce” between the lines, instead of keeping you on a steady path. 
The damping is well calibrated with the adaptive dampers. 
It is well suited for trails full of bumps and potholes.
The exterior design of the 2022 Ford Focus
The 2022 Ford Focus has undergone a major facelift for the fierce competitor Volkswagen Golf. 
Changes include a full styling, new powertrain options and an upgraded infotainment system. 
The family car’s new design reflects the recent revamp of the Fiesta, reshaping the front of the car. 
The Ford badge was moved from the edge of the hood to the grille.

Whichever Ford Focus 2022 you choose, you’ll find it looks more muscular than previous models, with a bold series of lines that give it a more aggressive look. LED headlights are now standard on all Focus variants and have fog lights built into them. The new “Ring of Light”.
The redesign included separate details for the ST models with titanium trim, and the ST-Line model focused more on performance, with individual grille and fascia designs. 
Side skirts, rear diffuser and rear spoiler, while the powerful cabin features SUV-inspired design such as additional underbody cladding, and larger side air vents. 
Good titanium inlays accents the design. 
It is complemented by a wider glossy black honeycomb grille, horizontal bars, and larger side slits.

The rear of the car gets LED taillights as standard, and the available ‘High Series’ taillights make for an exciting circular illumination pattern. 
On the other hand, the Vignale package carried some details and the possibility of custom designs and Titanium trims as well, increased glamor with five new designs for 18-inch alloy wheels, with a 19-inch option, in addition to the upper grille and side vents in satin black.

Entering the interior of the 2022 Ford Focus, you find a new cockpit layout, enhanced by a 13.2-inch touch screen installed in the center of the dashboard. 
It’s bulky, and Ford has integrated HVAC climate controls into the information display, making it a tidy center console. 
The quality of the interior materials is the same as the previous model. 
Nothing new other than the lavish 12.3-inch driver information display, but it’s optional, not standard, which is acceptable given the price of the Focus.

The new Ford Focus 2022 design takes on a dimension as practical as possible, with plenty of space for five people. 
In the front row, there’s about 987 mm or 38.8 in of headroom, with 1,421 mm or 55.9 in of shoulder room, and 1,109 mm or 43.6 in of legroom. 
The rear seats are fairly comfortable, with 965 mm or 37.9 inches of clearance, and 918 mm or 36.1 inches. 
And if you compare it to the 2022 Volkswagen Polo, you’ll find the rear legroom in the 2022 Ford Focus better.
The infotainment system for the 2022 Ford Focus
Significant Renovation The cabin of the 2022 Ford Focus has been kicked off by Ford’s latest Sync 4 infotainment system, with its large 13.2-inch screen. 
“The center console is cleaner and less cluttered,” Ford says. 
According to Ford, the system was designed to run just one or two touches of an operation.

The SYNC 4 infotainment system is intertwined with the large screen. 
It pairs wirelessly with both phone systems as standard on all models, and there’s also Voice Recognition, an advanced system that comes with an entire optional package that Ford calls “Advanced Machine Learning,” a technology that helps drivers improve the in-vehicle communication experience. 
The car can accept updates via wireless internet, and with the FordPass app, they can check the car’s fuel levels and oil life from their smartphone.

Passenger space and ride comfort in the 2022 Ford Focus
The 2022 Ford Focus isn’t quite as spacious as the very spacious Skoda Octavia, but it’s good compared to the VW Golf, Audi A3 and Mercedes A-Class. 
Tall adults will have no issues with the amount of legroom and height in the front seats, with plenty of seat adjustment and steering wheel for the perfect seating position. 
Even lower-end models come with adjustable lumbar support to reduce back pain on long trips.

In the rear, the Ford Focus is almost better than its competitors except for the Octavia. 
For two adults to sit without their heads touching the ceiling. 
Seating three adults is a pressure on long journeys, but the rear headroom is more than in a Volkswagen Golf or Kia Ced. 
The center seat back is somewhat supportive, and there’s legroom for everyone on the mostly flat back floor.

You can also pay extra to replace the front seats with 18-way manual seats for a relatively small fee. 
But the front passenger seat isn’t dealt with height adjustment and lumbar support, in all grades, and there’s an electric adjustment for the ST-Line X-Class driver’s seat. Generally, a child seat is easy to fit into the 2022 Ford Focus. 
The rear door opening is nice and spacious, with standard Isofix mounting points with easy-to-remove plastic caps.
Storage space in the 2022 Ford Focus
The 2022 Ford Focus is equipped with an oversized compartment at the base of the dashboard to store some items, as well as a two-tier handy compartment under the center arm to keep the things you need close at hand.

There are door bins for a 1.5-liter bottle, a decent-sized glove box, and two cup holders, with space for two glasses, and a small water bottle can be placed in a third slot in between.
Luggage box for 2022 FORD FOCUS
Surprisingly, the 2022 Ford Focus has dwarfed that of the Skoda Octavia, but cargo capacity is still decent at 392 liters or 13.8 cubic feet but slightly less than the Polo’s 414 liters or 14.6 cubic feet. 
It’s a bit more room than the Mercedes A-Class, I just didn’t like the little ledge at its entrance, and to be honest I found it pretty good.

The box is enough for a large suitcase and two handbags, but you can’t fit a stroller. 
With all the rear seats folded, the 2022 Ford Focus increases boot space to 1,320 liters, which is larger than a Golf, Astra or Ceed and large enough to carry a bike with both wheels attached.
Operating expenses and fuel economy for the 2022 Ford Focus
When it comes to Ford Focus engines, there are three sizes to consider: 1.0, 1.5 or 2.0 liters. 
and a 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol engine from Ford, with either 125 or 155 horsepower. 
There is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder diesel with 120 horsepower, and finally a 2.0-liter diesel with 150 horsepower.

We tried the 120hp 1.5 diesel, which is the engine you should go with if you’re cruising on the highway. 
It can be a bit noisy on start-up and cool off afterward, smooth on acceleration, and gets close to 60 mpg.

We also tried the Ford 1.0-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 125 horsepower in other Ford models, and it will really be the right engine, because it does not cause noise and does not raise its noise, and its price is cheap when buying with lower operating expenses.
Safety and security specifications for the Ford Focus 2022

The new 2022 Focus looks stylish, lively and promising with plenty of features and Ford confirming over-the-air updates to improve system and bugs in general. 
The new generation Polo is a very strong competitor to the Focus, but Ford will play on the list price, and the price is expected to be around £19,000. 
With advanced safety features that are often standard, along with a better cabin experience and multiple powertrain options, it’s the 2022 Focus that will get the extra attention.
