The English company MG, in partnership with the new Chinese commercial owner SAIC, launched its latest version of the 2022 MG5 GT, a car that belongs to the luxury sports sedan category.

The company developed the new MG 5 GT with modern upgrades and visual modifications, both external and internal, by focusing on spacious areas, adding technology for transmission and turbo, and some safety and entertainment means, and focused on the aesthetic form to achieve the aspirations of car lovers.

Features of the MG5 GT 2022

A sedan of the electric model, and it includes two propulsion systems in the standard specifications of the modified class, and it focuses on the engines that raise the main speed to it and the wheels are made of strong aluminum, in addition to this, the general shape makes it provide comfort and flexibility.

It is available in four versions of the equipment: MG STD, MG Com, and MG DEL, and the categories available are Comfort, Luxury, and Performance.

It comes with a length of 4675 mm instead of 4601 mm, a width of 1842 mm instead of 1818 mm, and a height of 1480 mm instead of 1489 mm, in addition to the length of the wheelbase of 2680 mm.

It competes with many cars such as BMW 2022, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Genesis G70, Audi, and Tesla developed for 2023.

• The car came with a very elegant appearance from its previous versions, as it was distinguished by the presence of the roof that operates automatically from the outside and inside, and was designed in a sloped manner to allow the support of the ambient lighting feature by means of the LED.
• The company’s logo on the car is beautifully designed in the center, and a lot of the ventilation holes on the sides of the doors have been placed in a streamlined way to deal with the fog conditions that the vehicle faces in off-road.

• The exterior structure is made of strong bullet-proof steel, so it contains a solid and sharp body, and the car is provided with a lower grille to increase the space for the external volume, and the special tires are about 18 and 19 inches.
• The windshield has a rain sensor feature, which automatically closes the exits, in addition to the ventilation holes that change the air dynamically quickly without the need to open the windows.
• The car is distinguished by its main black color with red interior, and there are other colors of the same design such as (white and gray), and the wheels are 17 inches in size at the front, and 18 inches in the rear.

• MG cars relied on the high design of the belts designed for strong safety in collision situations, ideally for adults and children, and collision avoidance systems with central lane control.
• It has an air suspension system with sensors for the rear cameras.
• The vehicle is equipped with a rear sudden stop parking sensor, a full set of LATCH connectors for second-row seats, and Intelligent Drive on busy roads.
• The specification for the current model has been revised to include automatic steering with the steering wheel itself rather than through the instrument cluster.
•  Daytime running lights and heaters for sun-reflector mirrors were placed on highways in order to avoid collisions due to a lack of good judgment of distances.

MG5 GT Engine Performance 2022

1. MG equipped its car with two options for the standard four-cylinder engine with a volume of 1500 cc, producing 120 “horses” and 150 Nm of torque, and is equipped with a turbocharger that reaches 3 liters (3000 cc).
2. The other optional engine has a capacity of 1.5 liters, but it can generate 173 hp, and the total fuel consumption is up to 5.8 liters with distances of about 100 km.
3. Its gearbox works automatically with a capacity of 12 speeds, and the ability to accelerate by the main engine from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 6 seconds.
4. The total speed of the car reaches 200 km / h, and it takes 4.9 seconds to reach the scheduled speed of about 100 km / h, and it has the ability to cover a distance of 170,000 km.
5. It includes a 140V power outlet and the charging of the 745e battery takes about 10 hours, and you can charge it using 260V power, which reduces the charging time to about three hours.

Disadvantages of the 2022 MG5 GT

• Sometimes you lose control of the kinematic balance on the highway and winding, and the drag of the engine is medium speed with the bends and it is very expensive.
• The height of the car is less than the previous version, and thus exposes it to friction, and the large size of the car makes it difficult to adjust the speed performance, and this negatively affects the transmission.
• When the top speed is increased, passengers may feel that it is shaking, and because it is an expensive sedan, spare parts are not appropriately available when needed, and it is not easy to sell them used because Chinese materials and specifications have a shelf life in well-known markets.
• When the car remains on its ECO indicator, its movement does not increase with gasoline.
•  The lines in its external structure obstruct the full vision, and depend on changing and modifying its clutches, and this is the worst defect in it.
