Easy ways to fix car engine problems

You hear a knocking sound coming from the engine
Check the oil and fuel in the engine

Check engine oil

• Park your car on a flat surface, stop the engine and wait about 15 minutes, pull out the dipstick that shows the oil level, which is usually a yellow or orange handle, and wipe it completely until it is clean.
•  Then put it back in the oil, wait five minutes, then pull it again and see whether it is on the min or max indicator. If the indicator is at min , fill in the oil with the funnel designated for that.
• Wait 30 seconds before checking the oil level with the dipstick again, as previously described.
• Stop filling when the max mark is reached because overfilling can also damage the engine.

 Check your other fluids:
Coolant, brake fluid, wiper fluid, and other fluids are placed under the hood in translucent tanks with correct fill levels so you can easily see if they need to be refilled.
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for adding these liquids.
The engine oil used in most modern cars is classified as “multigrade”. This type of oil is thinner in consistency at cold temperatures than at higher engine temperatures, which helps the oil to flow to protect the engine when starting from the cold. Multigrade
oils are described by two numbers such as 10-30w , these numbers indicate the viscosity of the oil when cold and when it is warm when in use you should use the specific oil for the make and model of the car.

• Automobile engines use one or more rubber belts. Today, one wide belt known as a twisted belt and a V- belt is used to supply power to systems like the water pump and air conditioner. If that belt slips on its pulleys, it will make a high-pitched screech.
• Turn off the engine and allow it to cool Press the top of the belt if it is so loose that you can push it down more than 1 centimeter (half an inch) It should be tightened or replaced by a mechanic. However, you can temporarily silence engine sounds.
• Use the knife to cut a thin strip of soap bar. Rub the soap on the inner surface of the strap as far as you can reach (having a thin bar of soap helps you get farther).

Start the engine and check the sound. This process is repeated if necessary.
