The German Technical Inspection Authority (
TUV ) has issued a set of warnings about the oil level exceeding the permissible limit in the engine, as this causes serious damage to the car.
She explained that increasing the oil level leads to the formation of some foam, which negatively affects the efficiency of the oil in reducing friction between the engine parts, and leads to severe damage to the engine parts.
To avoid this problem, it is recommended to add the oil in batches of 100 milliliters each time, and to repeat the oil level check with the dipstick, until the oil reaches the required level specified by the
MAX mark
.
In order for the engine oil measurement process to be carried out correctly, the authority advises to warm up the engine, then stop it and leave it for ten minutes before carrying out a measurement again.
During this period, the quantities of oil spread on the internal engine parts return to the oil sump again, and then accurate results are obtained to check the oil level in the car.
