The all-new Peugeot 408 supports the latest version of the ‘EMP2 KM Stellants’ platform, which can be found under other Peugeot cars. The plug-in Peugeot 408 includes a Hybrid 180 with 133 kW and a Hybrid 225 with 166 kW. Both models use the same 1.6-liter four-cylinder petrol engine, which is equipped with an electric motor, which draws energy from a 12.4 kWh battery, and the battery takes 115 minutes to charge with a 7 kW charger. Peugeot has not announced the electric range of its 2023 Peugeot 408, and based on the latest Peugeot hybrid cars, it is expected to cover between 60 km and 63 km, respectively.

The 2023 Peugeot 408 comes with Drive Assist 2.0, a brand-specific package that offers semi-automatic lane-changing technology, adaptive cruise control with lane-following and lane-keep assist.
