Toyota bZ1 launched in 2025 with an actual range of 200-250 km
Lately, we’re seeing how almost all new launches of big groups within the electric car segment are big SUVs and expensive sedans. There is hardly any place for city dwellers. But Toyota wants to turn the tables and conquer the market with the launch of the Toyota bZ1. To be its low-cost electric vehicle, Toyota is pursuing a plan to produce a low-cost urban electric vehicle range, which we anticipate what its design line will look like.

This year, Toyota will launch the bZ4X in the global market, which will become the Japanese brand’s first mass-produced electric vehicle. The SUV will compete with cars such as the Hyundai IONIQ 5, Nissan Ariya, Tesla Model Y and Volkswagen ID 4.
However, Toyota intends to offer affordable electric vehicles to most consumers, which is why in the short term it will launch a series of smaller bZ4X models. These proposals would provide less autonomy than its older brother; In return, Toyota will offer a more attractive starting price.
Toyota bZ1 is part of a plan to sell 3.5 million electric cars
While presenting Toyota’s new strategy last year, it showed us how its future electric range will consist of sedans, SUVs, sports cars, SUVs, pickups, and mid-size trucks… Toyota wants to launch vehicles for all tastes and needs.
Some models on display still have the look of a show car, while others appear closer to their production version.
Perhaps one of the best examples of the latter is the Toyota bZ1, a small SUV that is similar in design to the new Aygo X Cross.
Toyota’s upcoming electric car range until 2030The Toyota bZ1 is defined as a “small battery electric car with ergonomic interior designed for Europe and Japan” and falls
within the scope of Toyota’s “Beyond Zero” plan, which leads us to believe that it will not use the TNGA-B X platform used in the Toyota Aygo, But it will use the e-TNGA platform, as the specific architecture for the electric vehicles already seen in the bZ4X.
Toyota has confirmed that its goal is to make this affordable urban SUV with just 12.5 kWh per 100 km, the lowest in its class.
This will allow it to offer good autonomy despite the use of cheap, low-capacity batteries.
Toyota bZ1 Engine and Battery

This leads us to believe that the Toyota bZ1 engine could be around 80 kW (109 hp) and would be powered by a 30-40 kWh battery.
It is sufficient if we look at the approved consumption data provided by the manufacturer between 250 and 320 km according to WLTP standards, or it can be said that the Toyota bZ1 will have a real range of 200-250 km on a single charge.

The battery produces chemicals that we think will be LFPs, but this news has not yet been confirmed, and it is expected that this will lead to a car that will cost less than 20,000 euros for the Toyota bZ1 before any incentives or discounts.
A price that we can compare to the 17,000 euros at which the Toyota Aygo X starts in Spain, for example, and this would make the electric version very close to the price of petrol cars, and all this comes in an electric model that should reach the market before 2025. And
Toyota had announced About a plan to provide about 70 models of electric cars .
The bZ list includes two cars so far, and 13 other cars are expected to enter this category.
