An epic driving adventure by Nissan Ariya covering more than 27,000 kilometers across multiple regions
Yokohama, Japan – Nissan today announced its partnership with British adventurer Chris Ramsay, to take the world’s first all-electric driving adventure from the magnetic North Pole to the South Pole.
Departing from the Nissan Ariya in March 2023, the daring pole-to-pole expedition will see Ramsey and his team take off the Nissan Ariya e-4ORCE on a journey lasting more than 27,000 kilometers across multiple regions and continents with forecast temperatures ranging from -30°C to 30 degrees Celsius. Ramsay will be the first person to drive from pole to pole in a vehicle of any type as it makes its way from the North Pole through North, Central and South America, before crossing into Antarctica.
From icy, snow-capped landscapes to treacherous mountain climbs and vast desert dunes;

In preparation for frigid Arctic and Antarctic conditions,
Ramsey’s Nissan Ariya e-4ORCE Journey will be modified with a rugged, custom-made exoskeleton for trekking across harsh terrain with upgraded wheels, tires and suspension.
The second unmodified ARIA e-4ORCE will serve as a support vehicle throughout the Americas.
The e-4ORCE is Nissan’s most advanced wheel control technology that precisely manages power output and braking performance for smoothness and stability.
The system enhances driver confidence by tracking the intended driving line on a variety of road surfaces, including wet and snowy roads, without the need for driving style changes or inputs.
This isn’t Chris Ramsay’s first all-electric expedition.
He’s been an adventurer in electric cars for more than a decade.
In 2017, he and wife Julie became the first team to complete the Mughal Rally in an all-electric vehicle.
The pair drove more than 16,000 kilometers across multiple locations over 56 days in their Nissan Leaf.
Although the Nissan Leaf battery doesn’t offer a great range, they did.
