The Japanese automaker, Mazda, launched the sedan and hatchback versions of the upcoming Mazda 3 2024 in Japan with new updates for the fourth-generation model that was launched in the global markets in late 2018.
After the first details of the updated Mazda 3 appeared in its home country of Japan, let’s monitor that it has a huge new infotainment system with a larger screen and there are new safety features.
The car also received new color updates, as well as improvements to the infotainment interface and some other updates inside the cabin, which we will introduce you to in this report.
Mazda 3 2024 specifications
Available in both hatchback and compact sedan versions, the model is a stylish, attractive, high-quality compact car that is also more engaging to drive thanks to its low seating position, and is one of the safest small cars you can buy.
The Mazda 3 was last upgraded in August 2022, when it received a slight increase in horsepower and efficiency, but now its new version for the Japanese market has received some limited updates, as the cars got a new exterior paint in Metallic Ceramic color with some important technical updates inside the cabin.
These updates were shown in Japan, and it is likely that these updates will be reflected in the international specification models in due course.

Exterior design
- The Japanese car has received some minor changes to its exterior design compared to the current version.
- The only exterior upgrade the facelift appears to have is the addition of the Ceramic Metallic paint.
Interior Design
- The updated Japanese Mazda 2024 has gained many changes in terms of technology compared to the current version.
- The interior undergoes many technical changes, one of the biggest changes inside is the adoption of a new larger 10.25-inch central display screen for the infotainment system, which replaces the 8.8-inch screen currently used.
- Wireless capability is also built into Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, making it easy to link a smartphone to the vehicle’s interface.
- The car now supports wireless smartphone charging along with shiny USB-C ports.
- Other additions include the availability of remote engine start via the MyMazda app, but only in grades equipped with automatic transmission.
- Customers can use the latter feature to remotely start the vehicle and get a more comfortable temperature inside before entering the vehicle.
- One good feature that flows from the Mazda CX60, however, is the Mazda My Car Care system, which protects the vehicle from theft, with a security guard able to track and check the vehicle should the worst occur, and is standard except for the version equipped with the SKYACTIV-G 1.5 engine.
- Another new function allows owners to set the speed and driving position of the vehicle. The app alerts you when a driver exceeds preset speeds, driving time and driving zone, and is supposed to monitor the vehicle if it is being used by another driver.
Security and safety systems
- In terms of safety and security equipment, the company is working on improving the vehicle’s safety systems. New safety technologies include an improved pedestrian detection system and additional obstacle detection.
- As well as the intelligent driver monitoring system that can detect distracted drivers while driving and warn them visually and audibly by adding an audio warning system with a light warning message as well on the display screen.
Performance advantages
- On the mechanical level, the latest updates from Japan do not reflect any mechanical changes, as the improved car continues with the brand’s famous SkyActiv-X engine with 188 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque.
Mazda 3 2024 price
- The updated Mazda 3 will go on sale in Japan in June of 2023, and it will start at the equivalent of $ 17,300 and up to $ 30,000 (at current prices) in this country.
- Naturally, it will be more expensive in other markets with the addition of taxes, costs on the road, etc.
