Cars of the Future: The BMW 7 Series 2023 Wants You to Love It

The large sedan of the BMW 7 Series hopes to win the hearts of those who love to drive, not the passengers in the back.

What it is: BMW 7 Series

It is the largest and most luxurious sedan in BMW and its most attractive model. The Model 7 was first launched in the late 1970s, and for a long time was Bavaria’s answer to the S-Class in Stuttgart. They always embody and enjoy the best of BMW, and their owners usually boast a number of engine options and wheelbase lengths. For most of its existence, it was the driver’s choice for big luxury cars.

Why BMW 7 Series:

In a world dominated by SUVs, this big Bimmer wants to show that it still has a place in people’s hearts. Especially the versions of this new generation – the BMW 7 Series – which will still be able to serve as a comfortable, luxurious and comfortable means of transport for the driver. It always strives to be good enough to drive so that the owner who doesn’t want to move around can take the wheel and feel satisfied.

And if the recent 7 Series models failed to achieve this last aspect, but the BMW 7 Series exceeded that in generation versions that come with a great deal of luxury that BMW described as the “ultimate driving machine” and come decorated with a lot of information and advanced entertainment, and safety factors and tools, besides Advanced driver assistance technology. Above all, it looks to us with a reasonable revolutionary determination to find its way to the leadership it is accustomed to.

Platform, engine and power

The 2023 BMW 7 Series will be built on the modular architecture that underpins the current i4 model and offers a large number of drive options. The turbocharged I-6 and V-8 engines from the current 7-Series are likely to move to the new version with slightly more power.

However, the V-12 engine found in the M760Li would almost have to roll because it runs on gasoline, due to stricter global emissions regulations. In turn, the eight-speed automatic transmission directs power to the rear wheels or all four wheels.

However, the main news about the powertrain is that the 2023 7er will also be available as an all-electric vehicle. Although details are scarce about this version’s data and settings, it’s safe to assume the range, power output and engine configurations are, at least, with those of the BMW i4 M50.

That means – in the higher-spec version – at least 500 horsepower from a pair of electric motors, a 100 kWh battery, and at least 300 miles on a single charge. But there is no word on whether or not the EV will take the ‘i7’ moniker. For those not ready to make a switch for an all-electric EV, there is hybrid power on some versions.

Expected price:

The current 7 starts at more than $86,000, but the new car’s base price will creep closer to $90,000. With the M760Li removed from the range, the top-of-the-line 7 Series will be the most powerful and longest-range EV variant, which will likely peg at $140,000 or so
