2022 Lexus NX Engine Performance
Unlike the last generation model, the
2022 Lexus NX features four powertrain options .
The base NX250 comes with a 203-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, while the NX350 is powered by a 275-hp 2.4-liter turbocharged engine.
Both come with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and while the NX250 gives you a choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, the NX350 comes with all-wheel drive only.

Of course, you wouldn’t actually run 43 miles in realistic driving, but 30 to 35 miles can be achieved as long as you take it easy and the weather isn’t too cold.
This is enough to cover most travels.

When the battery is empty, the 2.5 liter gasoline engine comes to life.
You can hear this happen and you will notice a small amount of vibration through the seat, although this is mainly due to the contrast with the full electric mode.
Only when you put your foot firmly does it get a little noisy.
On hybrid standards, the brakes can be expected reassuringly.
When you hit the pedal, the car slows down linearly, without the grip that some hybrids and electric cars do.

The only version we used so far was the F-Sport model.
Nice adaptive sport suspension and massive 20-inch wheels are standard on F-Sports models, but the ride is surprisingly comfortable at low speeds.

Fortunately, the 2022 Lexus NX has a more intuitive system that won’t cause a snag.
It has a touchscreen display – 9.8 inches on the Premium Pack model and 14 inches on other models – but more distraction than the rotary console interface on the BMW X3.
When trying the larger screen, the icons were well spaced out and responded quickly to commands.
It’s definitely better than the Volvo XC60 system.

As for charging the battery, this can be done at up to 6.6 kW – about the same power you’d get from a typical wall box installed in your home.
This means that charging from 0 to 100% takes about 2 hours 45 minutes, which is much less time than it takes to charge a Volvo XC60 or BMW X3.
But these competitors can only accept 3.7 kW of charging power.
