4 signs that the IAC sensor is damaged in the car .. most notably the high RBM

With the technological development in the field of cars, sensors have become one of the most important parts on which cars work well, and one of the most important of these sensors is the ” IAC sensor “, which performs many vital functions in the car.

IAC Sensor Functions :

This sensor performs many important functions in the car, the most important of which are:

1- Increasing the speed of the number of engine revolutions “with an RPM counter ” when the loads are high; As a result of running the air conditioner, in order to keep the engine running at the required speed.

2- This sensor also increases or decreases the idle speed of the car, when the engine is running and the car is stopped.

3- This sensor can also control the rotation of the engine, via the car’s computer, and in this mode, the sensor stabilizes the rotational speed of the engine on the low mode, which is less than 700 RPM at the ideal engine temperature.

4- It works to raise the number of revolutions of the engine, RPM , to 2000, when the car is running in order to raise the temperature of the engine; To reach the ideal temperature, which makes the engine run at a high efficiency, and then the RPM counter begins to descend gradually, and return to its normal level.

Signs of damage to the IAC sensor  :

A fluctuation in the number of revolutions of the engine RPM , and this is noted by its continuous rise and fall

The engine stops when the vehicle is stopped at idle speed

The RPM counter does not rise when the air conditioner is turned on

– Screeching appears while the engine is running
