The winners of the WWCOTY Awards are determined by a panel of 56 automotive journalists, representing 40 countries across five continents. Perhaps what makes these awards unique is that all members of the panel of experts who vote on the awards are women.
Jeep Wrangler 4xe win represents a step forward
Marta Garcia, CEO of the Women’s World Car of the Year Awards, described the 2022 Wrangler 4xe as a “giant step forward” for the brand, and underscores Stylantis’ commitment to sustainable driving solutions.
“The Jeep Wrangler 4xe’s commitment to the environment is of critical value to the Women’s World Car of the Year.”
Of course, when you talk about a pure SUV, there is more to it than naming the winner rather than sustainability.
The Wrangler 4xe has earned its place among the most legendary names in off-road driving, thanks to its powerful plug-in hybrid powertrain.
The 2022 Wrangler delivers a whopping 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, making it brutal and efficient.
It’s still a Trail-rated Wrangler 4xe, offers solid front and rear hubs for better off-road performance, and can cross up to 30 inches of water.
The Rubicon 4xe also works more with a Rock-Trac 4×4 all-wheel drive system with Dana 44 front and rear axles, and delivers a crawl ratio of 77.2:1 and according to the jury, these capabilities were a major part of the Wrangler 4xe’s award for Best Best Pure 4×4 SUV.
This probably won’t be the last big prize for the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, as recently,
the Jeep Wrangler 4xe was awarded GearJunkie’s Adventure Vehicle for Best SUV as well as a place among the world’s top ten best engines and best all-wheel drive systems Wards 10 Best Engines and Propulsion Systems.
