Troubleshooting a car that cannot start moving

Have you ever thought about those wonderful days when your car didn’t start? If you left your lights, radio, or some other electrical device on after you parked the car, you know what the problem is. Your battery is dead. Of course, there are several other possible reasons why your car won’t start.
Signs of your car
not starting Your car may not start for a number of reasons. The following list outlines the most common conditions and tells you what action you can take to try to remedy each situation:

  • Vehicle is silent when the ignition switch is on Check the battery terminal cable connections (see How to check your car battery) If they appear very corroded, pinch the point of the screwdriver (with a wooden or insulated handle) between the connector and twist to secure it tightly and then try to start the engine if the vehicle starts , they need to clean or replace your cables.
  • The car makes a noise to run but does not start this sound usually means a dead battery If not, check the connections to and from the jumper for a free connection.
  • The crankshaft is moving but not moving Check the fuel used in the car, and the spark to your spark plugs.
  • The engine starts to move but shuts down again, if there is a carburetor, you must check the adjustment of the carburetor and the throttle in it, but if it works with fuel injection, you must call a professional.
  • The car does not start or start to move on rainy days. Check inside the diffuser cap for moisture. When you confirm the presence of moisture, you must use a mechanical solvent from the nearest service station where you clean the parts of the car, or buy a sprayer to evaporate the moisture in the cover, Then dry the cover with a clean, lint-free cloth and replace the cover.
  • The car does not start in cold weather in the morning. Check the carburetor, whether it is closed or open, if your car is an old model, but if it is, you need a specialist to check the injection system.
  • The engine does not start when starting, you must check the connection points with the battery and see if the spark plugs are working or not, the fuel injection must also be checked and the fuel filter may be a problem with the time pump in that case, change it.
  • When the ignition malfunctions or the car vibrates during acceleration, the acceleration pump in the carburetor, the spark plugs, the distributor, and the ignition timing must be checked.
  • When you hear a knock or a knock in the engine, you must check the ignition timing and also check the octane number of the fuel you are using. The owner’s manual tells you whether the car needs regular gasoline or unleaded gasoline. Also check the cooling system and the pressure on the engine cylinder.

The start
to move safely to the following: start -up phase, follow the steps
1. Remove the cables of your own delivery.
It’s a good idea to buy a set of jumper cables and keep them in the trunk. If you don’t have jumper cables, you should find someone who can help you and who also has jumper cables.
2- Put their cars in Park or Neutral mode with the ignition and emergency brake turned off.
3- Remove the covers from both batteries (unless they are closed).
Batteries produce hydrogen gas which can explode and any spark may explode if the covers are open you can avoid such an explosion.
4- Connect the cables.
The positive cable has red pins at either end and the negative cable has black pins that are important to attach in the correct order:

  • First, attach one of the red pins to the positive terminal of the battery (it has ” POS ” or “+” on it or larger than the negative terminal ).
  • Attach the red pin or clip to the positive point of the vehicle.
  • Connect one of the black clips to the negative terminal on the car battery.
  • Install the last black clip on an unpainted metal surface on your vehicle and not near the carburetor (if yours has one) or a battery.

5- Try to start your car
if it does not start, make sure the cables are connected correctly and run your car engine for five minutes and then try to start your car again if it has not started yet the battery may be further away from the other.
6- Disconnect the cables.
Do not turn off your engine. Drive for a while to recharge the battery.
