Despite the tremendous technological progress sweeping the field of cars, new cars still in their early days need some care and this is what some call the “softening period”
Therefore, the German Technical Authority for Quality Control issued some tips on how to properly handle cars in the first 100 km
Among the most important of these tips:
the engine :

It is advised not to fully press the accelerator pedal, during the first 1000 km of the new car, so as not to damage important parts of the engine, including the erosion of a large area of the cylinders and their lack of tightness, which causes the leakage of a quantity of engine oil, thus reducing the life span of the engine.
There are also some other parts of the car’s engine that need more time to actually enter the stage of working at full capacity, such as the shock absorber, so you do not need to worry if it does not work well in the first days of the car’s work.
Tires :

The German Quality Control Authority confirmed that the new tires need to travel a distance of at least 150 kilometers, in order to fully adhere to the road.
About the reason for this, car experts say that tire rubber is equipped with a layer of insulating grease that helps separate the tire from the forming mold during the production process.
Brakes (brakes):

The brakes in new cars may require some time to be able to work at full capacity, so high speeds in such cases, may represent a great danger to vehicle drivers, especially in the first days of driving the car, so the German authority advises to be careful during this period.
