The Messerschmitt Microcar is reborn with the KR-202 and KR-E5000 models. And various fuel options
It’s hard for the average person to remember the name Messerschmitt , and perhaps the first clue is the name of the infamous German Bf 109 fighter plane of World War II. After the war, Messerschmitt was not allowed to build aircraft, so the company, among other things, built a small three-wheeled car with tandem seats and an open roof. The Messerschmitt Kabinenroller, as it was called, was introduced as a modest car, and was built during 1964.
I tweaked it to make it a little better at boot.
The result is what you see here, now called the KR-202 or KR-E5000 depending on whether you prefer petrol or electric in the tandem small car experience. The driver sits in front alone and the passenger behind
ChampionHonoring the original KR200’s design, the new KR was upgraded, with hydraulic disc brakes on all three wheels, adjustable suspension, a fiberglass body, and a steel and aluminum frame.
In order to save energy,
The KR-202 features a 125 cc single-cylinder gasoline engine with electronic fuel injection and an output of 7.3 hp.
The KR-E5000 replaced gasoline with electricity, and was equipped with a 6.7-horsepower engine that derives its energy from a 1.4 kW battery.
The listed top speed is 75 mph, and both have a range of approximately 100 miles.
However, for the E5000, you
need the dual battery option to get there.

Despite the modern equipment, the new KR weighs less than the original and yes, including the electric version.
According to New Atlas, the gas-powered KR-202 tip the scales at 485 pounds while the E5000 actually weighs less and weighs less at 430 pounds.
This is for the single battery version, which offers a range of only 50 miles.
An optional sunroof is also available, which will add a bit of weight.
We bring this miniature car with a highly torsion-resistant hybrid aluminum chassis.
All parts are hot-dipped galvanized steel!
With motor: 1 zil.
It works with 125ccm 4T EURO 4 EFI fuel injection, with a CVT Automatic transmission.
Obedient, I didn’t even hit the Emirate, the single wheel in the backOf course I won’t worry too much when entering the gas station, our micro car’s tank does not hold more than 6 liters, but of course I will worry about traveling long distances as the maximum range: .
160 km-
In order to reduce weight, the car was equipped with a vinyl driver shutter: equipped with a three-point automatic belt.
With a position to adjust the seat to suit the driver from 150 cm to 195 cm.
As for the rear seat: it is upholstered in two parts, removable and equipped with an automatic lap belt.
Messerschmitt-Werke says it has opened orders for its Micro machines, for both versions.
Pricing for the KR-202 version starts at €10,950 ($13,150), although this is a special introductory price for the first 20 orders of the all-new Micro.
The E5000 version starts at a slightly higher price, at €12,950 ($15,550).
