How to clean headlights? DIY tricks to try

After a period of time, the headlights of the car suffer from the lack of clarity of their glass, which makes the lighting weak, and you can restore the brightness of your car lights like new with these simple instructions.

1) Buy a box for polishing the lights from one of the stores that specialize in car maintenance tools.

2) After making sure that the components of the box are complete, wash the lamps with soap and water to obtain a clean surface so that the cleaning materials in the lamp polishing box are not wasted on removing dirt from the surface of the lamp.

3) Do the first sanding, by spraying water spray on the lamp to act as grease and facilitate sanding sand paper on the lamp glass, and this is useful for removing the sediments that distort the lamp light, then wipe the glass with a paper towel to get rid of the sediments resulting from sanding.

4) Do the second sanding, again spray water spray on the lamp, but this time use the blue sandpaper to improve and smooth the results of the first sanding, and after the lamp is completely finished, wipe it with a paper towel to clean it.

5) Wipe the lamp with liquid, by placing a large amount of thick liquid on a piece of cloth and then wipe it well on the surface of the lamp glass to polish the entire lamp, and if the liquid begins to dry, you must either pour more liquid or spray some water on the surface of the lamp to work Successfully.

6) After you are done wiping with the liquid, use an old cloth to clean the surface, and wipe as hard as you can to remove the remaining residue before you perform the next step.

7) Put an insulating material around the lamp, then slowly pour the insulating liquid onto a new piece of cloth, then wipe it on the lamp from side to side until you cover it completely and wait two minutes for the first layer of liquid to dry.

8) Apply a second layer of insulation using a new piece of cloth, and repeat the exact same previous step.

9) Clean the parts of the solution that got out from the frame of the lamp. Although most lamp cleaners are safe on the car’s paint, the solution that was applied in the previous two steps will form a hard crust over the paint that is difficult to remove without damaging the paint.

11) Repeat all of the previous steps on the other lamp, and it is assumed that the lamp cleaning tray contains sufficient quantity to clean and polish the headlights without purchasing a new one.
