You should also put the recommended oil in your car’s owner’s manual or put an oil of a higher rating. For each, it is not permissible to mix oils of different classifications.
When adding brake oil, it must be of the same type, and at least the same classification.
As for changing the oil completely, you can put DOT5.1 instead of DOT4 or DOT3, the
same case DOT4 can be used instead of DOT3, but they should not be mixed together, as mixing glycol with silicone fluid may cause corrosion due to moisture.
