2014 Kia Optima With its refined design, the Kia Optima offers the most powerful engines in its class with a long list of standard equipment and features, making it an essential choice when it comes to mid-size four-door sedans.
The latest model year of the Optima benefited from mid-cycle updates that have been applied to it that include subtly revised revisions to the exterior design, upgrades to the interior displays and an interior package.
Kia comes with a simple sporty design for a medium-sized sedan. In the front, we find a grille bearing the shape of the known designs of Kia, bordered by headlights stretched to the rear. The 2014 Optima is longer, wider and lower than the old model, while the design of the sedan looks similar to the design of a coupe due to the profile arcuate;
The simply redesigned hood of the Optima gives it a fresh look along with improved aerodynamics. New LED fog lights and standard LED taillights enhance the sedan’s image.
Inside, you’ll find the cabin of the new design, with a redesigned instrument panel. There is plenty of legroom for all passengers, and the quality of the plastic used is even more luxurious.
Most Optima models come standard with Kia’s UVO infotainment system, which provides integration with smart devices via Bluetooth, and allows users to get information from Google Maps and other information services. A choice of four-inch or eight-inch TFT LCD screen can be used to integrate with the system.
In next year’s model, Optima enthusiasts can choose between a naturally aspirated engine or a four-cylinder turbocharged engine. And both transmit power through a six-speed automatic transmission.
The base 2.4-liter direct-injection engine delivers 200 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque and is more powerful than any unit on a sedan in its class, with fuel economy 24 mpg city and 35 mpg highway.
The new engine is a turbocharged, direct-injection 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 274 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. Fuel consumption in this unit is 22 mpg city and 34 highway.
The 2014 Optima can be selected in options such as LX, EX, and in the SX trim level.
The semi-basic LX model comes with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, with a host of new standard equipment including Bluetooth connectivity.
