Renault Duster 2022 is one of the cheapest family cars, prices start at less than 14,000 pounds, and there are destinations that offer a monthly premium of 164 pounds a month, which is half the price of the Kadjar. And Renault Duster 2022 SUV hopes to convince you that it offers a simplicity that will leave you a little conceited. Dig deeper and you’ll see that the Renault Duster 2022 cost has been removed. Some of this savings doesn’t affect the bottom line.

In the automotive world, Renault Duster 2022 is the champion because it gives you a lot for your money.
It’s a family SUV that can cost less than half the price of a mid-spec Seat Ateca or Skoda Karoq, and it’s handsomely less than the Renault Kadjar.
First launched in 2010 ,
priced at just under £10,000, it was actually one of a small group of small SUVs on offer at the time.
For more old versions, see my 2015 and 2019 reviews.

Today we bring you all the details of Renault Duster 2022 after we tested it well, and we will compare Renault Duster 2022 with all its major competitors, including Seat Ateca, Skoda Karoq and Suzuki Jimny.
We’ll also tell you what we think of the performance, handling, interior quality and more.
What’s new Renault Duster 2022?
No changes were made to Renault Duster 2022’s dimensions with the latest facelift, still offering four adults to sit comfortably, but struggling for a third row for adults in the rear seats.
Although there is plenty of space for the family, the space is slightly reduced in the diesel and AWD versions.
In its second generation, Renault Duster still retains the original spirit of the Duster.
Most importantly, it is still cheap.
Renault Duster 2022 review, one-minute reading
Renault Duster 2022 04.jpg
When
Renault bought and reinvented Dacia at the start of the 21st century, many dismissed the rumor that it was remanufactured , but since its introduction the Renault Duster has proven that theory wrong.
Where you can see many of Duster’s cars parked outside multi-million chalets, and on the opulent city streets, they have been chosen for their robust reliability and extremely affordable price.
In its new version, Duster has been given a little rest to maintain its freshness.
Renault Duster 2022 exterior design
There is a new grille design similar to that found in Renault Sandero, and the mandatory face-lift is to tweak its lights, to become smaller, with LED headlights, and Y-shaped daytime running lights. New LED headlights “C” and at the rear, There are new taillights and a new, more aerodynamic rear spoiler.
It appears from the terrain of DUSTER.
It’s attractive design, improved grille and lighting signature, that grabs everyone’s attention.
Renault Duster 2022 007.jpg
The car is 4.3 meters long and is very similar to the Qashqai.
Renault Duster 2022 is based on an old platform, so it loses the driving calmness of the Sandero.
However, its light steering makes it easier to use in the city, and Renault has increased its weight for added safety on the highway.
So it’s a better value than ever.
Renault Duster 2022 003.jpg
New, powerful lines are added to the Renault Duster 2022 front end with high ground clearance and a chrome grille frame.
And most importantly, it got strong roof rails, meeting the highest standards in terms of rigidity.
And make it more comfortable.
Interior design for Renault Duster 2022
Inside the Renault Duster 2022 interior you will find redesigned seats with new upholstery that are more comfortable than before, and a new sliding armrest with a storage compartment between the front assembly.
The new dashboard looks modern and is well assembled.
Definitely missing the soft-touch materials.
The combination of switches and climate controls are working fine.
There is an option for a leather steering wheel, starting with the 3 Series.
The navigation system is connected to satellites via your phone.
Renault Duster 2022 004.jpg
The big news about Duster is the new infotainment system, which now comes in three variants.
An entry-level system that works via an app on your phone that we haven’t tried yet, or an 8-inch touchscreen with or without built-in satellite navigation.
Renault Duster is still not equipped with the basic safety package such as automatic emergency braking or adaptive cruise with lane-keeping technology.
Notes on the interior of Renault Duster 2022
Look around the booth and you’ll also find other simple and cost-effective solutions.
The headlight is powered by a cable, not by an electric motor.
And the same for the air recirculation hoist.
The center rear seat belt is suspended from the ceiling, so the seat back does not need to be reinforced.
And there is no rear armrest either.
The height of the driver’s seat is also adjusted without the passenger seat.
Renault Duster 2022 006.jpg
The dashboard has high ventilation holes.
And the multimedia and satellite navigation system in the higher versions is also not connected to direct traffic, but it is easy to use and clear enough.
As with the rest of the car.
Renault Duster engine 2022
Renault provides you with engines of all kinds of power such as gasoline, diesel and LPG, and if you spend most of the time in the city, it is preferable to stick to the gasoline engine of 90 or 130 hp, but if you want all-wheel drive, you should have a 115 hp diesel engine.
This so-called bi-fuel can run on gasoline or LPG and can be cheaper to run if you live near an LPG pump.
You will get a 3-cylinder petrol engine with 100 horsepower.

There are many petrol options, but all of them are two-wheel drive only.
All are turbocharged, and split between 90 horsepower, a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder or 1.3-liter 4-cylinder producing between 130 and 150 horsepower.
If you spend most of your time in the city, 90 HP or 130 HP petrol engines are preferred, but they don’t give you an automatic gearbox with either.
Renault Duster 2022 024 09.jpg
The 150-horsepower engine is the only one with a new, easy-to-drive dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
And if you want all-wheel drive, you’ll need to buy a 115-horsepower diesel engine with front-wheel drive.
Or the all-wheel drive system, in both cases the Renault Duster is very capable of off-road driving.
Value for money Renault Duster 2022
Renault Duster 2022 1024 0d.jpg
Regardless, Duster remains great value for money.
If you’re not too fussed about a luxury brand or a classy interior, Renault Duster 2022 should be on your list of family SUV options.
Driving impressions of Renault Duster 2022
We returned Renault Duster 2022 on the naturally aspirated engine, without a turbocharger, and the torque was very little.
Renault did well, replacing it with engines all with smaller turbo options.
Renault Duster has not been updated with regard to driving in the 2022 version, which means that it is still based on an older generation.
Renault has increased the steering weight at higher speeds, and it has more traction on the highway.

You can get a feel for it, because it’s not comfortable or quiet in the city, yet the light steering and good road visibility makes it easier in busy city traffic.
There is now an option with a 360-degree camera on some models as well.
On the country road, it feels like other family SUVs like the Seat Ateca are more lively and confidently through tight bends at speed.
Noise and vibration

Duster petrol engines – including the Bi-Fuel – are surprisingly silent, and there’s just a weird faint whine or a simple scream under heavy acceleration.
The diesel engine is also very rattling free, but transmits noticeable vibrations through the steering wheel and floor area around the pedals.
Renault Duster 2022 %D8%B1%D9%8A%D9%86%D9%88 %D8%AF%D8%A7%D8%B3%D8%AA%D8%B1 1024 24.jpg
As mentioned earlier, the most powerful model in the range, the 150-horsepower TCe, comes standard with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The transmission shifts gears smoothly enough, but it doesn’t always make the smartest decisions, shifting at inopportune moments and hesitating when you want it to start.
So, we’re happy to stick with the six-speed manual.
Despite its long throw, it is accurate in its operation.
Renault Duster 2022.jpg
It’s wind noise that is the main concern.
There’s a lot of wind noise around the door mirrors and roof rails on the highway;
More expensive competitors such as Qashqai, Attica and Karoq give you a quieter travel environment in which you can cover long distances.
RECOMMENDED CLASS RENAULT DUSTER 2022
In last year’s review we recommended avoiding the diesel engine.
We prefer the dual-fuel option that includes an 800-mile LPG tank.
The 150 hp engine is shared with the Qashqai, Kadjars and even the Mercedes A-Class. They are smooth and refined engines and the automatic box does a good job of changing the ratios up and down.
It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in less than ten seconds…
Renault Duster 2022 1024 05.jpg
The other engines use a six-speed manual transmission.
And if you want an all-wheel drive, your only option is the Renault/Nissan’s familiar 1.5-liter diesel engine that’s meant for off-road purposes, short in gear, and noisy at more than 3000 rpm.
But we would opt for the quieter gasoline and maybe even an automatic box if you were going to live an urban life.
Handling in Renault Duster 2022
New for this generation of Duster is the electric power steering, which is precise enough and lighter, with a progressive, well-rolling steering system.
The ride is decent enough, and it’s not cumbersome on urban roads.
And of course don’t try to treat the Duster as a sports car, on the other hand tire noise is sometimes felt, as is wind noise, even if you’re not traveling fast.
Renault Duster 2022 h225.jpg
Off-road, it benefits from six-speed manual control and Hill Descent Control.
Also, the angles of approach, departure and break are high enough to allow you to tackle dips and sudden ups and downs.
Less smart is the wheel joint, which isn’t enough to avoid one or more tires getting off the ground too much.
And the traction control system is always able to prevent the wheel from turning power away.
It can tow 4×4 ton and a half.
Renault Duster 2022 1024 10.jpg
There are now more safety features too, including park assist, blind-spot monitoring and hill-start assist, but more importantly the lack of automatic adaptive cruise control for emergency braking.
This means that Duster’s rating in the Euro NCAP crash test will remain relatively poor.
Storage space and luggage compartment for Renault Duster 2022
Renault Duster 2022 005.jpg
There have been no changes to the Duster’s interior dimensions and it’s still a five-seater SUV that comfortably seats four, although three adults in the rear will be squeezed out on long trips.
The driver gets a decent amount of manual adjustment of the seat and steering wheel, and finding a good driving position is not easy, even though the seat is a little high.
Renault Duster 2022 011.jpg
Duster offers good storage space inside, with large door bins, a good sized glove box, and a new compartment under the front armrest.
The Duster’s luggage compartment volume is also good, at 478 liters, it’s even smaller, than the Skoda Karoq.
Even worse, Duster’s diesel and all-wheel drive models have a bit less space due to their packing under the boot floor.
Renault Duster 2022 operating expenses
The Dacia Duster range opens up to a surprisingly affordable base trim level, priced to significantly undercut competitors such as the Seat Ateca.
Not everyone wants an SUV without alloy wheels or a touchscreen infotainment system, but even the recommended mid-spec Comfort cabin feels cheap alongside the Nissan Qashqai, Peugeot 3008 and Skoda Karoq.
Renault Duster 2022 008.jpg
Duster offers ZS series operating costs.
The diesel is reasonably fuel efficient and gets more than 50 mpg, while the recommended TCe 130 petrol engine delivers more than 40 mpg in daily driving.
The ZS 1.0T GDi is closer to 39 mpg.
But keep in mind that the diesel all-wheel drive version is more expensive and also brings higher tax bills.
Renault Duster 2022 007 1.jpg
The Duster TCe 100 Bi-Fuel is fun for those looking to lower their fuel bills.
However, it is less efficient at consuming LPG, but the much lower price of LPG offers the potential for huge savings.
Having two fuel tanks also gives it a whopping 767 miles combined range.
Safety and security specifications for Renault Duster 2022
Safety is one area where Duster falls short of pace.
It offers advanced safety systems other than blind spot monitoring, and is only available on the top-of-the-line Prestige.
And Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) isn’t even offered as an option.
This is partly why Duster received a very disappointing three stars in the Euro NCAP safety tests.
2017 Dacia Duster Euro NCAP.jpeg
It also scores poorly for the protection it provides to the driver’s head and neck in the event of an accident.
The MG ZS also scored three stars, but many of its more expensive competitors are objectively safer cars in terms of collision avoidance and protection.
