Mercedes Benz EQS 580 4Matic Hero

The unveiling of the Mercedes EQS icon of electric cars with a range of 770 km

The three-headed star is on a hunting trip targeting Tesla cars.

The thrill of the famous Benz enthusiasts has come to an end, after Mercedes unveiled the 2022 EQS, and the three-headed star is targeting Tesla cars with a car that truly is an electric car icon with a range of 770 km per charge, with a bolder design and a highly technical interior.

In the beginning, before we get to know the exact details, I leave you to follow it yourself and record it with us through this video that deals with the details of the Mercedes-Benz apartment. Given the excitement that Mercedes-Benz exercises in the official video presentation, and to reduce the boredom of continuing reading, you can enjoy watching the official 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS video as well. But there is a short video of the new Mercedes masterpiec

The EQS, which will arrive in U.S. dealerships in fall 2021, will start at $103,360, including the $1,050 destination charge.

Details show luxury and sophistication in the Mercedes EQS

Long distance running

The 2022 Mercedes EQS is available in two grades, both of which are powered by a 108.7 kWh lithium-ion battery. The base model will be the EQS 450+, which features a single electric motor on the rear axle with a total of 329 horsepower and 406 lb-ft (245 kW and 550 Nm of torque).

A monster on the road is like a magic pillow

In addition to the EQS 580 4MATIC, it is, as its name suggests, an all-wheel drive car thanks to a front electric motor. Total system output is 516 hp and 611 lb-ft (385 kW 828 Nm), which gives it good capacity for a 4.1-second sprint to 60 mph.

Electric vehicle owners are likely to have the greatest interest in entering the EQS family of anyone interested. So said the sober German maker, Mercedes-Benz expects the EQS to have a range of about 770 kilometers (or 478 miles) per charge, according to a test system standard known as “WLTP,” which is greater than the Tesla Model S’s range of up to 379 miles.

EQS allows you to travel to Alexandria and back with only one shipment

The large battery extends the driving range between stops, as does the efficiency of Benz’s stellar aerodynamics. Combined with a drag coefficient of 0.20, this makes the Mercedes EQS the smoothest, most dynamic production vehicle ever sold. And that’s a major achievement, especially if we take into account that it doesn’t resort to tiny wings to glide through the air.

When it’s time for a charge to expire, EQS can recharge from 10 to 80 percent in 35 minutes via a 110 kW fast charge.

While it can be charged with a 240-volt home wall plug, it can take a little more than 11 hours to do a home charge – ideal for off-peak hours when you let it charge before you head out in the morning.

Mercedes-Benz is likely to partner the dealership with a general charging provider before the EQS reaches them, giving potential owners a competitor to Tesla’s integrated supercharging network.

Additional electric models – EQE, EQS SUV and EQB – will join the lineup in 2022.

EQS Designed for the Future

The design of the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS is a huge departure from the company’s other products, and it’s a thoughtful choice that makes EQ products something unique in itself. Because the large sedan is built on an all-electric chassis free from the limitations of a traditional front-mounted engine,

Designers pushed the hood down and the windshield forward. Meanwhile, the arched roofline and rear spoiler – with rear quarter windows that look like they were gifted directly from the GLE Coupe – create what Mercedes calls a “single arch” shape, born from the body line above the front wheel arch and extending all the way to the tail of the EQS.

The streamlined design makes the air feel undetectable

According to the company, the “body folds have been tested at Mercedes-Benz ,” so its electric car gets a remarkably elegant design. The clamshell bonnet wraps the wheels, while a shoulder bulge that runs the length of the sedan helps keep the body from looking over the side of the panels.

The subtle crinkle on the rocker panel adds some visual interest, but other than that, there aren’t many body accents that detract from the “progressive luxury” design philosophy. However, the designers lost all their work with the door of distracting windshield washer fluid on the left front bumper, which is necessary because the bonnet stays firmly in place except when removed by Mercedes technicians.

Up front is a glossy black dashboard (don’t call it the front grille) that houses a large Mercedes badge, with small three-pointed stars etched into the surface below. Three small LED accents on every headlight of other Mercedes S-class cars (S-Class Sedan and GLS SUV) evokes,

While a full-width LED strip on the front edge of the hood connects the headlights. The taillights also get surprising and playful details, with a helical design that Mercedes says is inspired by the visual coils of a vintage light bulb.

Single-box styling is impressive in such a luxury vehicle, and we wonder if most consumers wouldn’t associate the pedigree with something like the 2001 Chrysler Concorde.

However, the EQS ‘s sheer size , tapered greenhouse, powerful rear hips, and frameless door windows should help distinguish it, whether from front-cabin designs or luxury electric cars alike. We also appreciate that the company did not limit itself to internal combustion design conventions, using its electric vehicle platform to create a very large interior.

Rolling show room

The car will launch with a new “ hyper screen ” screen, the largest in the automotive industry, with a size of 56 inches, and it will be available as an option in EQS. Center space is 17.7 inches for the central infotainment system and vehicle function control.
And we continue to talk about the high-tech cabin, which is likely to be the strongest feature of EQS in the eyes of consumers. MBUX Hyperscreen, a 56-inch curved glass panel that houses three single OLED displays.

Panoramic screen makes you feel like you are sitting in front of your home TV

In front of the driver is a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, while a central 17.7-inch touch screen takes over most of the infotainment tasks. The passenger also gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen display, which is protected from the driver’s prying (and distracting) eyes by a camera system that monitors distraction and disables this unit if it senses the driver is looking at it too often.

Provided the driver of the car keeps his eyes on the road, the co-pilot can use this secondary touch screen to activate massage, heating and ventilation for both the driver and front passenger, as well as adjust climate, ambient lighting and audio settings. The passenger can also play their own music via the Bluetooth earbuds, search and navigate songs and suggest them to the driver.

Luxurious, heated, massage seats and center maps

It all sounds like information overload, but Mercedes has sought to reduce this intimidation factor by building a “zero layer” in the MBUX infotainment system software. In this mode, a full-screen map appears on the center display, enhanced by fixed voice control in the lower center and settings in the upper left corner. using artificial intelligence,

And EQS learns more about the driver’s preferences and schedule, indicating MBUX functions on the little squares superimposed on the map screen. For example, if the driver regularly calls someone when leaving the office, MBUX will suggest making that call as soon as the EQS leaves the parking lot.

The zero layer should allow drivers less concerned with tech features to climb in and begin their journey, while at the same time allowing digital intelligence to customize the EQS infotainment system to their heart’s content. And for the true Luddites in the room, Mercedes will offer a more traditional 12.8-inch, image-oriented central touchscreen on the EQS 450, paired with a standard 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

The fine details of the EQS cabin

The EQS’s unusual shape has one clear benefit: incredible interior space. Mercedes hasn’t released official measurements yet, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the luxury electric car was more spacious than the S-Class inside.

Oddly enough, while the electric car doesn’t have an engine or transmission, the dashboard is somewhat raised, giving the front row a comfortable feel – as does the bridge-style center console with storage inside and below.

And on Hyperscreen-equipped models, wood trim appears rarely on the console storage lid, with nice leather, soft-touch plastic and microfiber suede materials elsewhere.

The Hyperscreen bulkhead and door handle “float” above the surfaces of the dashboard and door panels, with ambient lighting appearing around the edge. One of the most thought-provoking design touches is

Detailed navigational charts

Pink metallic trim appears on the air vents, screen surrounds and door panels, a modern touch that looks decidedly luxurious.

In terms of seating, the rear seat is the only configuration available – there’s no fixed Maybach-style center console here – but the EQS keeps many of the luxury features and is equipped with an optional executive rear seat package. And the well-appointed rear seat armrest folds down to reveal the removable MBUX tablet, which acts as a remote control for the dual 12.3-inch screens mounted on the front seat backs.

Heated and massaged rear seats, but the door looks attractive in its design

The package also includes a heating and express massage for the rear seats. While the four-seat configuration will likely feel more distinct for Mercedes customers in the heels, there’s not much to complain about in the back of the EQS.

Below the power hatch is a spacious luggage compartment, with 60/40-folding rear seats increasing capacity. We’re waiting for the final specs, but to the naked eye, there appears to be a lot more space in the charging area than in any other luxury electric vehicle. This is a good thing, because EQS has no waste.

Technological marvels

And like the new S-Class, the EQS places great emphasis on driver assistance technology and integrated comfort. For example, MBUX Augmented Reality Navigation is standard, overlaying driving directions on a video of the road ahead in the center display. like S,

The electric sedan also gets an optional augmented reality head-up display, in which navigation prompts are projected onto the windshield in the driver’s field of view – a huge benefit for those with direct challenges.

Mercedes-Benz’s full suite of active driver assistance technologies is standard on the EQS, including adaptive cruise control Distronic, steering assist with automatic lane changes, and automatic emergency braking for front, rear and cross-traffic collisions.

This means that if you are about to perform a left turn before the road is clear, the EQS will intervene for you to prevent a violent collision in the event of a collision, and Pre-Safe Impulse Side raises the EQS by approximately 2.8 inches, ensuring more force is distributed across the car frame instead of the passenger compartment.

The large sedan can relieve the stress of a long road trip with the Power Nap function while charging. If activated, Power Nap reclines the front seats, closes the window, shades the panoramic sunroof, and plays soothing sounds to eliminate outside distractions. After a predetermined period of time, the Power Nap gently excites the occupants by activating the ambient light and returning the seats to the vertical position.

Another peculiar feature, given the modern world we live in, is the optional HEPA filter which is an air quality sensor for both the outside air and the air inside the cabin. The Energizing Air Control function in the driver’s center display allows the driver to monitor the status of the system, including the difference in quality between the outside world and the Benz cabin. The filter also works against viruses and bacteria, according to the German research institute OFI.

Soon on the red carpet near you

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS will arrive at US dealerships later this year, with pricing, official EPA dimensions and EV range numbers announced sometime soon. However, Mercedes representatives wink that we can expect the EQS to mirror the S-Class in terms of value – expect a starting price of around $110,000 for the EQS 450+ and $120,000 for the EQS 580. Fully loaded, of course we won’t be surprised when we see EQS of $150,000.

At these prices, Mercedes EQS will battle the flagship Lucid Air Grand Touring ($131,500), a Tesla Model S ($119,990), and Mercedes will also take on several variants of the Porsche Taycan. However, both of these vehicles are available in a much cheaper configuration – the Taycan starts at $79,900, while the Tesla asks for $90 more than the long-range Model S. Also, some basic Lucid Air Pure units start at $69,900.

Whether the EQS is worth the money depends on what you want out of your electric vehicle. The insignia infuses some front-row parking versatility, while its massive interior should make it appealing to environmentally conscious VIPs looking for a chauffeur-driven experience. And there are some, including your author, who appreciate its funky, futuristic design. We’ll be behind the wheel of the EQS soon, and we can’t wait to experience the Mercedes-Benz luxury EV brand.
