List of electric cars expected to arrive in 2022
When compiling this list, we really liked how big it is, and how many of these electric cars will impact consumers in 2022. Some of these electric cars will start hitting customers as 2021 closes its doors, but overall, the list includes 2022/20 electric car models. 2023 which (should) be available to consumers in the next twelve months. Be as excited as we are for all the electric vehicle options that will soon be available to you.
BMW iX xDrive50

BMW has started making electric cars for sports activities, such as the iX electric car . She presented it as a concept she called iNext, to compete with the Tesla Model 3, and the market is expected to drop at a price of around $40,000.
The iNext has evolved into a luxury crossover, called the iX that we see today, which sells for a starting price of $82,300, and the iX is offered with a pair of engines, providing 516 horsepower, and pushing it from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds, with 300 miles of range. It can also recover up to 90 miles of range in just ten minutes on a quick DC charge.
Cadillac Lyric
The Cadillac Lyriq will be the brand’s first electric vehicles and will sit on GM’s BEV3 platform, part of the parent company’s strategy to launch 20 electric vehicles by 2023 .

And since its official debut in August of 2020, we’ve been following a lot of Lyric news, including its 3-foot display, Heads Up AR display, and infotainment system that aims to compete with Tesla’s UX.
After revealing production last August, we learned that the Cadillac Lyriq will also start at just under $60,000, and specifically $58,795. As a result, all Lyric copies were sold out in just 19 minutes. And since we’re expecting deliveries in 2022, Cadillac recently gave us snapshots of its latest prototype before going into full production. Initial deliveries in America are expected to begin in March 2022.
Kanoo Lifestyle Car

Canoo may not be a household name compared to some of the other automakers on the list, but it will become, given its technology and unique designs. Among the many electric cars that were revealed, the Lifestyle car will stand out in the auto market , and the Lifestyle Vehicle is expected to achieve good sales figures, despite it being the first electric car unveiled by the startup.
Canoo describes the Lifestyle as a “home on wheels” and the interior features 188 cubic feet of volume and room for seven, surrounded by panoramic windows and a front driver’s window. needs, with a promise of at least 250 miles of range, and can be booked in advance with a $100 deposit. It is expected to be launched in late 2022.
Fisker Ocean
It seems that Henrik Fisker’s second iteration is the electric car company that bears his name, and he has corrected his course with the design of the Ocean SUV . The car is one of a handful of concepts Fisker has been considering. He announced a deal with electric power maker Magna International. It debuted at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show.

We got to see Ocean’s design, learn about its three pricing levels and unique technologies, such as the Ocean Extreme solar roof. The price of the Ocean Sport, which has a range of 250 miles, will start from only $ 37,499, and the price can be reduced to less than $ 30,000 if you pay for it in cash in the reservation, through a huge point of sale set up by Magna, and the Ocean electric car is scheduled to arrive in November 2022.
Ford F-150 Lightning

The Ford F-150 Lightning has what qualifies it to be the most popular electric car in 2022 and later , and it is expected to lead sales of electric cars like its sister F-Series, which has been on the throne for 40 years. More than 200,000 Lightning cars have been booked, and commercial customers have not booked them, although they commercial car. Ford’s plans for co-production have led to the sale of all of its production through 2024.
Lightning offers a standard range of 230 miles, with home charging, and the ability to charge other electric vehicles at the speed of a Tier 2 charger. Ford has already doubled production of Lightning to meet demand, and it’s not yet launched. The 2022 Lightning commercial model starts at $39,974, and the higher-end models have a battery that has a range of 300 miles on a single charge. Contracting with the blockers begins in January 2022, followed by Lightning production and delivery in the spring of that year.
Genesis GV60
Genesis is another brand that has pledged to transition to electric vehicles, ending all petrol models by 2025. To kick- start the transition to new electric vehicles, the GV60, as its first signature electric model, will be seated on Hyundai Motor’s E-GMP range platform . The CUV will feature the interior luxury that Genesis is known for, with a unique spherical center console.

The GV60 is driven by three engine options, a single two-wheel drive, two standard all-wheel drive, and a high-performance all-wheel drive, which increases the performance of the GV60 to make driving more dynamic. The GV60 hasn’t released EPA ranges, but estimated ranges start at 280 miles followed by 249 and 229 miles for AWD models, all powered by a 77.4 kWh battery.
The GV60 will come with battery conditioning, multi-input charging, V2L charging, and push-and-connect technology. Pricing for the GV60 has not yet been announced by Genesis, but the company has stated that the electric vehicle is slated to arrive in the spring of 2022.
Hummer Electric Pickup (EV³ˣ) GMC Hummer EV
The big spark for the world’s largest automakers will be an electric version of the massive petrol car – the Hummer. In 2020, the public saw a new electric Hummer and saw what it has to offer , including an SUV and pickup version. GM originally admitted it didn’t have a working prototype when it first unveiled the truck. However, last December it released some great shots of an electric Hummer.
While the lowest-cost version of the new Hummer isn’t slated for release until 2024, customers can expect more expensive, well-equipped versions in 2022 and 2023. The company called the first version of the 2022 Hummer an electric 1 Hummer, costing more than $110,000. It recently started rolling out to early adopters. These editions sold out within ten minutes last year.

Hummer’s specs are impressive so far, including features like the Walking Crab. However, these Hummers vary a lot across models and GMC can expect to see a Hummer EV³ˣ Pickup in fall 2022, with prices starting at $99,995.
Hyundai IONIQ5

The IONIQ5 is the first electric car from the Korean manufacturer Hyundai , produced by a new division of the electric car industry IONIQ, and is the first car built on the group’s new E-GMP platform. Part of the IONIQ5’s allure is its wide body and long wheelbase, which will make it one of the largest cabins in its class, better than the Mach-E and VW ID.4.
It’s packed with cool tech like an augmented reality home screen and advanced ADAS and V2L capabilities, which means it can power your devices while camping or commuting, or even charge other electric vehicles. Not to mention one of the fastest charging cars in its class. The best-calculated feature of this electric crossover is its selling point, and specifically its price. Hyundai just announced that it will sell its IONIQ5 at amazing prices, starting with the base Standard Range RWD for less than $40,000, and the AWD Limited Trim model with HUD for less than 55 thousand dollars.
Kia EV6
The Hyundai IONIQ5 will accompany the Kia EV6. It will be the third electric vehicle built on the E-GMP platform and marks the beginning of Kia’s shift towards a lineup of electric vehicles . Like its Hyundai counterpart, the Kia EV6 has had some great reviews and early demand. And Kia recently announced that this electric vehicle will arrive in 2022 with a range of 310 miles. Due to its external appearance, the EV6 will outperform the IONIQ5.

We don’t want to speculate on pricing, we haven’t had official word from Kia yet, but the EV6 is expected to start at $45,000, and regardless of official pricing, all EV6 models are expected to go on sale in early 2022.
Lucid Air Pure
There are three separate models of the flagship Air sedan, offered by Lucid Motors, due to arrive in 2022, but we think the Pure could be the version that boosts the luxury electric car company’s sales numbers. The company displayed a Dream Edition design , which was the first Air model to roll onto the assembly lines at Lucid’s AMP-1 facility last October, and deliveries of 520 vehicles began.

This $169,000 wonder car was the start of Lucid’s long-awaited launch, and more affordable models are expected to be built in the future. Lesser versions will help make it the most superior name in the world of luxury electric sedans.
The Pure will cost about $77,400. It’s popular, while still pricey, but about $90,000 less than the Air cars coming on the road. The Future Pure is expected to achieve close to 406 miles of estimated range and produce 480 horsepower, and a Lucid Air Pure is expected sometime in 2022.
Lotus SUV “model 132”
The upcoming electric car from Lotus and the first SUV is the most secret vehicle on this list, we don’t know its official name yet . Lotus provoked us by launching the codename “Model 132” through a series of short videos launched by the company, which offered glimpses of the SUV. It was announced in a group of four electric cars coming from Lotus, and they will all be electric cars, and they will be launched in 2022.

Sure, there’s a lot we don’t know, but what we’ve collected so far. Confirmed that the Lucid Type 132 SUV will be a BEV on a new lightweight Lotus chassis, and will feature LIDAR technology. Its interior will also be completely different from previous Lotus cars. Lotus says the SUV will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in three seconds.
The car will use an “800-volt high-speed electric charging system”. Finally, the Type 132 will have battery packs ranging from 92 kWh – 120 kWh, and can be charged to 80% in about 20 minutes on an 800-volt charger. The car is expected to arrive in the spring of 2022.
Mazda MX-30

As you may have noticed by now, this list contains a lot of first-of-its-kind electric cars from the automakers, which is why we call 2022 the year of the electric car. In it we will see a Japanese company that manufactures electric cars. Indeed, the Japanese automaker Mazda went in the same direction, offering us its electric car MX-30 at a very attractive price , but with some concessions.
Mazda announced the MX-30 last April, and we learned that it will sell for a very reasonable price of $33,470 for the base model, rising to $36,480 for the “Premium Plus” package. Some may see this price as low. But that cost doesn’t justify the anemia in the MX-30’s range, as the 35.5 kWh battery pack only provides 100 miles of range. It’s a day car, meaning it’s a decent car at a much lower cost than many of its competitors, and it’s available today.
Mercedes-Benz EQE

Mercedes-Benz has already started offering electric vehicles to its fleet with its new EQ line, producing a number of electric vehicles, starting with the luxury EQS. Landing in 2022, the EQS will join the EQB SUV and the EQE, a smaller electric version of the first.
This EQE mid-size sedan will arrive with a 90 kWh battery providing 410 miles (660 km) of range and 292 hp provided by a single engine, and is rear-wheel drive. The cabin of the EQE is similar to the cabin of the EQS with its superior MBUX screen and huge panoramic touchscreen. But its price is not available, and Mercedes-Benz has announced that it will arrive in 2022.
NIO ET5
The ET5 from NIO is the latest electric vehicle announced on our list, and one of the few that hasn’t been planned for market entry. It was revealed at the end of December during the company’s annual NIO Day conference in China. 2022 will see this electric vehicle join the ET7 previously announced as a second sedan from NIO. The ET5 will be a fierce competitor to Tesla in China, and NIO says its new car will offer a range of 1,000 km (621 miles) on a single charge.
Other features of the new car include LiDAR technology to support NIO Autonomous Driving (NAD), the NIO Aquila Super Sensing sensor and a super computer system for its NIO Adam Super Computing, allowing the new electric vehicle to gradually achieve safe autonomous driving in scenarios such as highways and areas urban and parking.

Neo announced that the ET5 will sell for CNY 328,000 ($51,450) before Chinese subsidies, and the company has renewed a lower price than Tesla cars in the Chinese market, and Neo is expected to start deliveries to customers in China starting in September 2022, while deliveries will not start in European continent before spring 2023.
Nissan Aria
Nissan was an early adopter of electric cars and the long-lived LEAF, although it hasn’t made much innovation since then. However, it was one of the global automakers to join the UN-backed “Race to Zero” campaign, which aims to be 100% electric by “early 2030”. And that journey will begin with the arrival of her Arya car.

Nissan unveiled the car at the beginning of the summer of 2020, then presented its first electric SUV as a working prototype.
The Ariya will come in four different models, each equipped with an 87 kWh battery, three of which are front-wheel drive. Estimated ranges vary from 265-300 miles. To incentivize consumers to make reservations, Nissan is offering the first 10,000 reservation requests made before January 31, 2022, a free two-year EVgo membership plus $500 in shipping credits on purchase. Ariya shipments are expected to begin arriving in fall 2022.
Polestar 3
While the ET5 was one of the newer electric cars on the list, the Polestar 3 remains one of the most mysterious. As you can see, the only photo released by a Volvo group company is still wrapped in camouflage.
Last summer, Polestar revealed that it was working on a third electric vehicle, an SUV that will be manufactured and sold specifically for the American market. Built with aerodynamic electroperformance technologies.

On top of that, consumers can also expect high-quality, safety-focused autonomous driving features in the Polestar 3. We recently got our first look at the Polestar 3 during the automaker’s unveiling of the Polestar 5 sports coupe, formerly known as the Precept Concept. Unfortunately, no other specifications for the car have been shared currently, but the Polestar 3 is expected to enter production sometime in 2022.
Rivian R1S
The Rivian R1S is an electric SUV version of the flagship R1T, and is the first all-electric pickup to hit the market. It has many of the same unique features that made the R1T Electrek the best car of the year, but with a larger interior.

Initial release versions of the R1S recently began delivering at the end of December, but two low-cost SUV models have been put in place for 2022. This includes both the Adventure and Explore models, and each offers an estimated 316-mile EPA range. (EPA) – Not bad for an electric vehicle of this size. Delivery times will vary depending on which models and add-ons you choose in your R1S, but expect to see more on the roads in 2022.
Subaru Solterra
Sticking with the trend of electric-focused brands, Subaru joined the electric vehicle market with its upcoming Solterra SUV in 2022. Subaru thrilled the public with its first electric vehicle introduced last May, and it kept giving us glimpses and stories throughout 2021.

And last November we all learned the specs of the Solterra electric, including its 250-mile range. and its 71.4 kWh battery, which Subaru says can deliver 285 miles (460 km) based on the Japanese WLTC standard. That should translate to approximately 250 miles of range based on the EPA standard. Although pricing has not yet been released, the Solterra is expected to explore routes in mid-2022.
Tesla Cybertruck
If you’re interested in electric cars, I’ll assume you’ve heard about Tesla’s upcoming Cybertruck…especially since we followed the news of it last year as a possible 2021 model. After much speculation, Tesla confirmed that the Cybertruck will officially be delayed until 2022. Since that time Tesla and CEO Elon Musk have been more An openness about the progress of electric cars “trucks”, which requires $ 80 billion in pre-orders already in place to produce them.
Complete prototypes with four engines and four-wheel steering have appeared, and since then the American automaker has removed all published specifications and prices for its Cybertruck from its site, and we know production is scheduled to begin in late 2022…
Toyota bZ4X
Toyota was one of the few global automakers to stall the production of electric cars. In fact, Toyota has been accused of obstructing the adoption of electric vehicles in favor of hybrid vehicles powered by hydrogen fuel cells. Toyota appears to have pulled its head out of the global market sands, and committed to delivering some electric vehicles in 2022. One of them is the bZ4X electric utility vehicle, which is part of the company’s new lineup in its “post-zero” emissions plan.

The bZ4X will hit the market next year with an estimated range of 250 miles on its FWD version. An AWD model is called the TBD, and it offers a range of 460 km (286 miles) per WLTC charge. I would expect the EPA’s scope to be a little lower. Pricing for some markets has not been announced, but the electric SUV is expected to hit the market in mid-2022.
Volkswagen ID.5
ID.5 is the latest offering from the Volkswagen Group and the ID family of electric vehicles. The German automaker has already had great success with two of its electric cars, the ID.3 and ID.4 have been a hit in world markets, and the German manufacturer is looking to accelerate its electrification strategy across all of its brands.

We covered the “production-like” launch event of the ID.5 GTX last summer, ahead of the Munich IAA Motor Show. Volkswagen announced more details about the ID.5 and ID.5 GTX last November, including both single-engine and dual-motor RWD versions, and they will build on the automaker’s MEB platform. Volkswagen has not confirmed the range or price of any versions of the ID.5, but it should hit the market after pricing and start sales in early 2022.
XPeng G9
XPeng joins NIO and Volkswagen in the list of non-US offers to produce electric SUVs, the G9, which was recently announced by XPeng. The G9 is XPeng Motors’ fourth show, and it was revealed at the Guangzhou International Auto Show in China last November. The new SUV will be based on XPeng’s new X-EEA 3.0 platform.
It is a company-owned electrical platform that integrates hardware, software, and communications together. The G9 is expected to receive firmware updates over the Internet with FOTA technology in a record fast time of about 30 minutes.

The new XPeng model will use a new generation XPower 3.0 powertrain system, with the first carbon platform carrying a mass-produced 800V battery in China. As a result, XPeng says its G9 SUV will be able to charge up to 200 km (124 miles) of range in five minutes, with maximum energy efficiency over 95%. XPeng aims to start production of the G9 for the Chinese market in the third quarter of 2022.
