Do new car tires need to be lubricated?... Specialists answer

Specialists from the German Technical Inspection Authority emphasize caution when driving the car after installing new tires for the car, because it needs what is called “lubrication.”

He explained that the new tires do not stick to the road enough, which may expose the driver to accidents.

He added that the reason for this is that the new tires are covered with insulating material, which requires some time for this material to dissolve on the tires, and this requires driving for a distance of approximately 150 km, after which the tire can stick to the road sufficiently.
