Lamborghini has confirmed the return of the popular Countach, and leaks suggest it will be an exclusive hybrid model in low numbers.
Lamborghini has revealed today that it will bring back the Countach name, and the video and teaser images show a wedge-shaped supercar. Is it close to the same old car that appeared in the seventies of the last century in the following video.
Lamborghini will be taking the covers off the new Countach for the next several days
during the Monterey Car Week .

50 years ago, Lamborghini took off the covers of the first prototype Countach.
Now, five decades after the world first saw the radically designed LP500 prototype at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show, Lamborghini has announced the return of the legendary Countach, releasing a teaser video today for the upcoming supercar.
Notably, this recycled name goes against the Lamborghini convention, as the company usually introduces a new moniker for each new model.
The video doesn’t reveal much – at just over 20 seconds long, the teaser shows a young boy placing a poster of the original Countach on his wall and asking, “What do you see?
A new picture ready to hang on a wall or the rebirth of a dream?
The last shot shows a white wedge-shaped vehicle in the distance as the narrator announces the revival of the Countach name.
Lamborghini also provided
one teaser image showing the new Countach under a sheet of paper, and while the details are indistinguishable, the classic Lamborghini wedge shape is as clear as daylight.
A leaked image posted to Instagram, as spotted by Roadshow, shows the full name is Countach LPI 800-4, which means it will be a production vehicle, not a concept.
The LPI part suggests a hybrid powertrain,
with Lamborghini using the designation “Longitudinale Posteriore Ibrido” once before on the 2014 Asterion Hybrid concept. The 800 indicates 800 PS, or 789 horsepower, and the number 4 means it’ll be all-wheel drive.
Oddly enough, Sian, who used a super hybrid system, did not include the LPI suffix, indicating that the Countach could have a new hybrid setup.
We expect the Countach to be a limited production car, as it is too early to replace the series production car with the Aventador.
The final version of the Ultimae of this model was recently revealed.
The new Countach will likely cost at least $1 million and will be revealed within the next few days during Monterey Car Week.
$2.64 millionIt will be priced at $2.64 million, excluding taxes. Lamborghini said the first deliveries of the hand-built modern Countach would begin in the first quarter of 2022.
