Hot weather

13 ways to beat hot weather while you are driving

Air conditioning is one of the most important elements of the car, but since it consumes a lot of fuel and always needs maintenance, let us tell you some other means that will reduce the heat while you are driving your car.

1. Hang a wet cloth in the middle of the car from the inside. The air that will come through it will be slightly cooler and fresh.

2. Perhaps one of the other ways to reduce the feeling of being very hot is to drive while you are bare feet. This may sound strange, the secret about it: the feet have a great role in contributing to the feeling of high heat due to their emission of heat to the body.

3. It is preferable to wet your hair before starting to drive. Wet hair will reduce the feeling of heat. When the water evaporates, the feeling of freshness will increase and your body temperature will decrease.

4. Put an ice pack on the floor of the car, which will contribute to reducing the temperature somewhat. In order to prevent water from leaking into the car, put ice bags in a metal or plastic box, taking into account the opening of the window slightly, which helps the air blowing to pass through the snow and feel a little lowered temperature.

5. Freeze some water bottles to use as ice bags, wrap the frozen bottle in a towel, and place it behind your cheek. Once it turns into a liquid after melting, drink the water in it to keep your temperature low.

6. Try to drive the car at times of lower heat than the day, for example the early morning is the kindest time in terms of temperature throughout the day, you will not feel as hot as you feel in the afternoon, for example.

7. Avoid times of high traffic, especially times of work end.

8. Select shaded places on the road, so do not walk directly under the sun as long as you have the opportunity to drive under trees, for example, or in a shaded spot.

9. It is recommended that you open the windows while driving, as this will help in changing the movement of air and its renewal.

10. Use glass that reflects sunlight. This will help prevent heat from absorbing and transferring it to the inside of the car, and it will protect the vehicle from ultraviolet rays.

11. Put a small fan in front of you in the car to help circulate and renew air.

12. If the place you are going isn’t a dress code, wear light clothing and shorts.

13. Avoid wearing dark-colored clothes. The more dark colors you wear, the more heat you will feel in the air because those colors absorb heat from the atmosphere.
