10- Ford F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid
When you get to the fuel pump, you’ll probably notice that gasoline prices are rising. It’s capable of producing 181 horsepower and an impressive 369 pound-feet of torque to provide up to 7,700 pound-feet of traction. Not only does the Colorado Duramax have great gasoline mileage, but it is one of the most powerful pickups on the market.
6- Jeep Gladiator EcoDiesel
Wrangler fans rejoice with the Jeep Gladiator. It is one of the best pickup trucks in terms of fuel economy. Like the Colorado, the Gladiator benefits from a 3.0-liter, six-cylinder EcoDiesel diesel engine, to be exact. It can get 24 mpg city and 28 mpg highway, and the Jeep Gladiator also has some of the best miles per liter of fuel.
The Jeep EcoDiesel engine has more torque than the Pentastar petrol engine and produces 442 lb-ft of torque. The Gladiator’s engine can also produce 280 horsepower and tow 6000 pounds, which sounds pretty solid for a mid-size pickup truck. 4- Chevrolet Silverado 1500 two wheel drive diesel
Very similar to the GMC Sierra pickup, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is 2WD and uses diesel fuel. The Silverado 1500 is another fuel-efficient truck thanks to its 3.0-liter Duramax diesel engine, which makes gas mileage big with 23 mpg city and 33 mpg highway.

To make it even better, the Ram has given the 1500 Eco Diesel engine the ability to run on B20 biodiesel, making it a truck with one of the best mileage and best fuel economy for 2022.
2- Hyundai Santa Cruz
Hyundai’s compact truck, the Santa Cruz, gets a lot of hate for being so small. But what makes the Santa Cruz better than most is that unlike other trucks, this pickup has better fuel economy, with all-wheel drive (AWD), rather than two-wheel drive (2WD). In fact, with all-wheel drive AWD, it can deliver 19 mpg city and delivers fuel economy with a highway average of 27 mpg.
In a real-world test, a car testing company said it was a Santa Cruz truck that reached 30 mpg. So we’re in front of another truck with a fuel rating of over 30 mpg. Additionally, the 2.5-liter turbocharged engine produces 281 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, and is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. 1- Ford Ranger
Ford claims to cover every possible size of pickup truck. It helps that both of these trucks are good at fuel economy. The Ranger’s small, 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine achieves 21 mpg city and 26 mpg highway. While the mileage on gasoline is lower than the Santa Cruz and much lower than the Maverick, it still has one of the best fuel economy miles to offer for 2022.
The naturally aspirated four-cylinder produces 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. It is a good engine and is capable of towing 3500 lbs. It’s the oddball, with Maverick and Santa Cruz edging out in the compact space, while the F-150 and Silverado were convincing arguments against the midsize truck. Regardless, the Frinder still beats the Tacoma, and that’s all Ford cares about.
