The tread depth of the tires plays an important role in the event of slipping on water; The new tread depth is 7 millimeters or more, and it drains water well at a speed of 80 km/h.
And when the tires reach the minimum tread depth of 1.6 millimeters, the car may experience slipping on the water when traveling at a speed of 50 km / h. Therefore, the German authority recommends changing tires when the tread depth is between 3 and 4 millimeters.
