The French electricity network confirms that electric cars will not overburden the network

A system can be made to supply electricity to the grid from electric cars, and a question mark can be made about using cars as a charger for the power grid

While the ongoing shift to electric vehicles continues at a rapid pace, the shift to electrification still faces a lot of criticism . Not in developing countries alone, but in all developed countries, and among those opinions and criticisms are multiple. Stress on the electricity grid is one of the most important of these allegations, and those with this view believe that charging operations will put electricity systems under great pressure that could cause them to falter under the pressure of entire population groups if they charge their cars at the same time, which increases the possibility of widespread power outages.

And recently, Réseau de Transport d’Electricité (RTE) , the operator of France’s electricity system, published a press release, including an assurance that electric vehicles would not pose an imminent threat to the French hydroelectric grid. In its statement, the company also explained why its network will not falter when millions of electric vehicles are connected across the country.

According to RTE, electric vehicle charging will account for just 10 percent of France’s electricity consumption in 2035. This, the company says, is highly controllable, meaning that a change in the country’s energy consumption may have little impact between 2010 and 2017. 2000 and 2010. 500,000 electric cars could be on the road, while French electric company RTE says it will be able to accommodate 15 million electric vehicles in 2035 without worry.

According to several strategies, the stress that electric vehicles may cause can be overcome , and one of the strategies proposed to reduce the load on the power grid is the vehicle-to-grid (VTG) system. In this scenario, stationary cars connected to a power source can be used to provide energy rather than simply consume it. Energy stored in a car or bike battery can power a home, or feed an entire grid system when demand is high. To offset energy borrowing from the car, the electric company said the system can speed up charging during peak hours or when solar power is more plentiful.

With France planning to remove gasoline-powered vehicles from the roads by 2040, these considerations promise more than purely theoretical, and some obvious questions come to mind. Will citizens be willing to let their car battery drain to power homes and other businesses? And how comfortable are people basically with the government tampering with their cars? Are we all going to look at our electric cars in the garage in 2035 and ask, Is my car charging… or is it being used as a charger?
