On the threshold of 2 million electric cars .. Increasing global sales of Lexus

TOKYO, Japan (May 18, 2021) – Lexus announced today that the luxury brand has surpassed its global sales of two million electric vehicles at the end of April 2021.

And Lexus had introduced two models of electric cars, the first a hybrid known as PHEV in 2021, which is an externally rechargeable gasoline car, equipped with a battery that can be recharged by connecting it to an external source of electric power, and it can also be charged by the engine and generator inside. In 2022, it also introduced an all-electric model, powered by a car battery, known as the all-electric BEV model.

Now, according to a recent report, EV sales in the U.S. are on the rise, increasing 89 percent just last year. Per figures reported by Cox Automotive, EV sales totaled 487,560 units in 2021, an 89-percent increase over the 257,872 units sold in 2020

Lexus announced that it will continue to drive the steady growth of electric vehicles and reduce carbon dioxide emissions in line with the global climate plan, which is known as carbon neutrality and is included in the sustainable development goals.

As part of the “Lexus Electric” vision announced in 2019

In its statement on increasing global sales, Lexus expects that electric vehicle options and sales of electrified models will outpace sales of pure gasoline.
