Kia Carnival 2022

Kia Carnival 2022 review: Almost magical

Kia Carnival 2022 is a millionaire car that brings the family together with multiple features that make it a special deal for the family

Parents usually have a few tricks up their sleeves when it comes to moving kids, or as the saying goes, dad is a bond, and the new 2022 Kia Carnival adds some much-needed features within the family that make mobility issues less of a hassle. However, the ride and handling issues make the Carnival even less expensive.

Compare it to competitors’ similar models: besides being reasonably priced, the new, comfortable goodies in the Kia Carnival make it more competitive, but other minivans have more powertrain options. But it is less able to compete with the Chrysler Pacifica blend in terms of facilities, technology and driving refinement.

But it really is a beautiful family car that gives you a lot of options, watch some of them in the following video before we take off together to segment the Kia Carnival from the womb of Sedona to become the star of the future family Kia

Glimpses of the capabilities of the family car from Kia with its new mark
It is mentioned that the Carnival is the Kia car known as the Sedona, and Kia has re-invented and built its Sedona car to present it to us as a carnival for the year 2022, but it abandoned and innovated in the new design of the minivan, and by reviewing the previous version, we will find that we got a more elegant appearance, such as an SUV.
It also debuts with the brand’s new badge, a sleeker, more streamlined version of the previous Kia logo.
Kia might call the Carnival its “multi-purpose vehicle,” but it’s actually a minivan that rivals the Chrysler Pacifica, Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna.
Look at them for some comparison.
Carnival roller coaster ride
It’s like a family sized ship
The car grabbed me and I was amazed by the carnival’s response – it’s fast , compared to a minivan, it has a single engine but it’s a 3.5-liter V6 that puts out 290 horsepower;
It’s mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission that offers quick, no-nonsense shifts, but has a smooth power delivery.
Even with my family of five, I never felt inferior to the payment system.
Unfortunately, smoothness is not an issue.
The Carnival’s soft-suspension tuning makes it less than the nimble handling of that brand
Kia motors .
It was accelerating and standing lightly and simply, almost taking care of the bumps and through the turns with the inclines, showing a lot of smooth body bend in the corners.
But adjusting the steering at the carnival doesn’t help;
All in all, it offered a light steering wheel but felt like a narcotic and disconnected driving experience.

Ride-wise, the Carnival remains made up of smaller bumps, but the bigger shocks rattle it with the harshness of the shock that rocks through and rocks the cabin.
In turn, the Pacifica does a better job of providing a more comfortable and balanced ride, as well as better maneuverability.
Carnival fuel economy
Average 22 mpg
The fuel estimation for Carnival is similar to other major competitors, but here too, there is room for improvement.
It’s EPA rated at 19/26/22 mpg and residences mean 22 city/26 highway/19 combined – so it’s close to 2021 ratings for the Pacifica and Odyssey, which also consumes 19/28/ 22 mpg.
My biggest complaint at Carnival is that it lacks choice and doesn’t offer many options: Chrysler offers a plug-in hybrid in the Pacifica that offers better fuel efficiency, and the hybrid in the 2021 Toyota Trolho Sienna offers impressive efficiency.
Also available on Pacifica and Sienna with all-wheel drive (I forgot to tell you that the Carnival is front-wheel drive only).
clown car feelings

The Carnival is available in four trims – the LX, EX, SX and SX-Prestige, and offers two different second-row seating configurations – one that’s roomy and versatile, one that one family should skip.
Reviewing the My SX test model, I found that it was equipped with the Slide-Flex system, which makes the second row of the car more flexible.
There are three seats that slide forward, backward and side to side.
They also recline independently of each other;
so you can move the center seat forward,
For example, so that a front seat passenger can easily reach a child with a belt behind them.
It looks similar to the 2021 Honda Odyssey’s Magic Slide system, but with a twist: softer for carnival, you can also fold the center seat down to convert it into a table or table with a cup holder.
It’s great, useful and I made it
The SX’s child-safe accommodations are family-friendly, too.
With three easily accessible lower mounts and ample space in the second row, I was able to quickly install three car seats.
The third row has two sets of lower stabilizers as well.

And the less-than-helpful side, that’s the VIP Lounge Seating experience over the top in the SX-Prestige option I tested, too.
The seats were much wider than the standard captain’s seats in the second row and had power controls, heating and ventilation, wraparound headrests and pop-up leg extensions.
This sounds great for getting a pedicure at the coiffure, not for rambling around with my kids. I care about them first, no one can use the third row when the seats are fully reclined because it encroaches on the back seating area.
Second, the third row is difficult to reach because the extra width of the seats makes the passage between them very narrow – even after they slide toward the side doors.
Storage spaces for small items at the carnival
2022 kia carnival 13.jpg
Small carnival-item storage spaces are a must-have for my family obsessed with snacks and gadget happiness—but they’re not impressive either.
The center console storage box is just a hum in terms of size and functionality (the Pacifica and Odyssey orchestrate that process best),
And there is not a lot of small room in the doors to store small things.
The third row also has cup holders but no storage bin for devices the others have (meaning my 10 year old’s things get tossed everywhere).
It also doesn’t have underfloor storage boxes like Pacifica.

In terms of cargo, again, the Pacifica is unparalleled thanks to the ergonomic Stow ‘n Go seat system that allows you to quickly and easily flip the second-row seats onto the floor.
The usual Carnival second-row seats can be folded or actually removed – but removing them seems a tedious and clumsy task – while the lounge seats don’t fold in or out.
However, all versions of the Carnival have a third row that easily folds into the floor.
Judging by the numbers from Kia, the Carnival has 40.2 cubic feet of rated cargo space to the rear of the third row, which is a few cubic feet higher than its competitors meaning it can carry more luggage.
Carnival with the feature and taste of the house of fun

Family-friendly features make it a family favourite, or stifle any desire to ride in a minivan, and the carnival has so much more than the old Sedona had.
All are welcome features – except for one.
First, the optional in-cabin camera system with zoom functionality and night vision allows front-row passengers to monitor children in the rear.
I found it similar to the Pacifica and Odyssey cameras inside the cabin but it would have been better executed in a clearer way to make the carnival images clearer, but on the other hand, the camera position provides a great view for both rows.
The system is paired with an amplification feature as well – which I found to be eye-catching and good – and is used in the trims of the EX, SX and SX-Prestige versions.

Carnival’s multimedia system is another success.
It comes standard with an 8-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto mobile systems.
The EX and top bezels have a 12.3-inch touchscreen display, while the Carnival Edition SX-Prestige has a digital instrument cluster connected to a touchscreen under a continuous piece of glass.
It looks elegant, has straightforward menus and a responsive touch screen.
In general, the system also contains different profiles, which help in customizing your favorite music and other settings for specific drivers with various extensions that give you several options for playing and enjoying music..
I’ve also found the hands-free, close-up-activated sliding doors to be very useful.
You can enter through the doors with the key in your purse or pocket because they will unlock automatically after three seconds – which is great when your hands are full of groceries (or kids).
This feature is standard and nice,
2022 kia carnival 14.jpg
Within the door system assortment;
A hands-free power tailgate is standard on all models except the base Carnival.
In return, Chrysler offers a kick-activated sliding door and cargo door system in the Pacifica, but it’s not standard.
But the Odyssey has an optional hands-free tailgate.
I liked the rear entertainment system, which fits the SX trim and SX-Prestige, and is a mixed bag.
For good ideas, two large touch screens in the second row do a lot of work.
You can connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot and stream Netflix or YouTube or enjoy the news, connect to another device via an HDMI cable, or to two Apple or Android devices through wireless screen mirroring.
There is also a special kids mode with lots of games that my three kids enjoyed.
It looks like the Baby Shark brand—and it’s also cringey, my kids said. They really enjoyed the games and the YouTube Kids option.
Some things need work.
First, unlike some other vans, there is no hotspot capability at the carnival, so you need an external hotspot or smartphone ability to connect to YouTube or Netflix.
Second, you need to download a remote control app to enable the rear entertainment system even if you don’t want to use your phone to control it.
This seems like an unnecessary extra step because giving my kids my phone to control the system is a constant.
Finally, the screens remind me of something outside of a cab;
Instead of flailing with a seat back like the dual screen system at Pacifica’s Uconnect Theater, the screens pop in and out as an aftermarket addition.
With the kids battling in and out of the truck,
In the error column there is a voice recognition system that enters and puts into the edges of the EX, SX and SX-Prestige versions.
It is a system that allows passengers in the second row to control many functions with voice commands by pressing a button on the roof.
Passengers can also do things like change the radio station or turn the steering wheel – but why?!
This isn’t a taxi, giving passengers (little boys who are prone to joking and crazy stunts) why you give them control.
A carnival in the balance of safety and value
Kia Carnival 2022 single deal .
International prices start at $33,275;
That might be $1,700 more than the outgoing 2021 Sedona but slightly more than the 2022 Honda Odyssey ($33,265) but is a better-equipped Carnival in terms of comfort features.
In contrast, the price of a modified 2021 Chrysler Pacifica starts at $37,315, and the new 2021 Toyota Sienna Hybrid is also about $35,635 more expensive.
And those are international prices, while the price of the Kia Carnival model 2019 in Egypt starts from 1,550,000, a little more than a million and a half.
Like its competitors, the
Kia Carnival comes with a range of standard active safety features : such as automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, automatic lane-focus steering, driver alert warning, blind-spot intervention, and motion alert. Rear traffic and reverse automatic emergency braking.
Additionally, the Carnival offers a host of standard safety features that other cars don’t have, such as the Ultrasonic Rear Passenger Alert and Safe Exit Assist, which uses radar to detect an approaching vehicle or any traffic, and can prevent the tailgate from opening. To avoid any collision.
One of my favorites is the blind spot monitor available on Carnival and in other Kia vehicles.
It gives me a view of the adjacent lanes in the instrument cluster when the turn signal is engaged.
They find it a very useful feature when navigating city streets shared with pedestrians and cyclists.
Although handling the carnival takes a lot of work and learning, it is an impressive car in many other ways.
Although I’m not a big fan of designing a special SUV as a minivan, I found the new Kia Carnival to be a strong and charming contender that really grabs you.
