Hyundai Elantra “Avante” 2015 vs. Kia Cerato “Forte”: Car Comparison

Hyundai Elantra

Hyundai and Kia have common roots, but the compact sedans show just how each company tries to differentiate itself. The Hyundai Elantra and Kia Forte saloon share some components, but they have some very notable differences in design and interior comfort which makes one a better choice for each other.

Undoubtedly, it is the Hyundai Elantra that takes precedence. It presented the 2012 model, which outperformed many competitors. Thanks to the “fluidic sculpting” design sporty, modern, and dynamic, . Last year’s Cerato (Forte) was restyled with almost exactly the same proportions, but overall a more European influence. The surfaces are gently curved, inspired by the classic designs of compact cars, while reshaping the front to distinguish the company’s cars with their own identity. Inside, it’s the same story for both cars, with the interior of the Elantra sporting beautiful waves and the distinctive hourglass-style console, while the Cerato takes the direction of a fresher, more navigable streamlined design. Overall, we consider the Elantra the best for its rebranding look – but we have to realize that it’s a matter of taste and opinion. On the performance front, the Cerato finally gains power with the more advanced four-cylinder engine that’s been on the Elantra since 2012, but the Cerato also offers a larger 2.0-liter four-cylinder version with 173 horsepower (which, incidentally, is also now inherited by the Elantra). It offers better performance than the 148 horsepower, 1.8-liter engine that was previously found in the Elantra.
If you drive these two sister cars side by side as we did, you’ll notice that the Cerato is a little better in terms of dynamics, and the electric steering wheel in the Cerato feels better than the Elantra. The independent front and rear (torsion-beam) suspension of the Cerato gives a more interesting and stable driving feel than the Elantra. The Elantra carries a slight advantage in its fuel economy numbers; The Elantra can drive 32 mpg city and highway according to the US Environmental Protection Agency, while the Cerato achieves 31 mpg combined.  As for the interior, the two cars are made on the same chassis and wheelbase, so they have almost exactly the same interior dimensions, but the Elantra is wider for the front legs, while the Cerato balances the front and rear legs, and the two allow a small headroom in the back, unfortunately, and this is due to the curved roof, which gives a sporty character. Theoretically, the two cars are made from the same chassis and many components, but it is baffling that the safety ratings are so different. While the Elantra is considered one of the best cars in its class in crash tests (Top Safety Pick), according to the US Agency for Road Safety, IIHS, it also achieves an acceptable score in the difficult front side crash test, while the Cerato achieves only a marginal score, but it improved from last year, which was weak. !!! But the safety components in the two cars, such as airbags, electronic stability, and others, are identical in the two cars.elantra collision videoserato collision video As for luxuries, the two cars offer almost the same package of features and many luxuries

Now that the generation gap between the Cerato and Elantra has closed, there is less distinction than ever between the features and specifications of both cars. But we consider the Elantra a little better, as it outperformed in some points by a small margin
