attack the SUV market with electrified ratios and rock crawling.
As part of its roadmap to the company’s planned financial success, the company has revealed a series of teasers depicting a competitor to the rugged-looking Jeep Wrangler.

Codenamed SsangYong X200 SUV, the vehicles are the spiritual successor to the first-generation Korando that traces its history back to the iconic CJ Jeep.
The pictures show a great similarity in appearance between the two cars, but there are still a lot of questions, so let’s dig deeper and explore all that it is expected to offer.
SsangYong X200 looks bitchy
Just look at this thing!
It’s the tough guy aesthetic that the
Wrangler and Bronco carry in crosshairs for the ultimate off-road presence.
SsangYong has used a new design ethos technically called “Powered by Toughness,” which embodies four unique pillars: strong architecture, vibrant contrast, unexpected joy, and connection with nature in the design of the SsangYong X200.

This new trend can be seen through the contrasting diamond grille, angular lamp housings and sculpted bonnet.
Another point that needs to be discussed is the front and rear fenders;
They are like well-toned athletes, and they stand out, adding dynamism to the situation.
Other unique elements include an upright windshield with a retractable contrast roof and Bronco-inspired attachment points on the bonnet.
The squared-off rear features “X” detailed LED taillights and a spare wheel mounted to the tailgate.
A deep look at the upcoming Korean Wrangler

The SsangYong X200 is said to be inspired by the current Land Rover Defender and will feature a spacious cabin adorned with industrial design and durable materials.
There will also be seating for five, and guesses are that a three-door variant may also be on the cards for the Defender 90 Challenge.
As with its upcoming J100 sibling, the X200 will offer a digital display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless phone charging, WiFi connectivity and a head-up display.
It will also feature a wide range of driver assistance systems, including Lane Keeping Assist, full-range dynamic cruise control, road sign recognition and autonomous emergency brake with pedestrian detection.
What’s under the cover

What drives the X200 is currently a guessing game.
Rumors point to a range of petrol and diesel engines, as well as some form of electric.
These include a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 160 hp (120 kW), a 1.6-liter diesel, and an all-electric variant with two 140 kW electric motors, one on each axle.
Power for the EV variant comes from a 61.5 kWh lithium-ion battery shared with the Korando e-Motion, with a range of more than 200 miles (320 km) on the WLTP cycle.
While the all-wheel drive system is guaranteed, questions remain about which chassis it will use.
More likely options are the Mahindra Scalable Modular Architecture (MEMSA) or a body-on-frame like the Jeep Wrangler.
With the help of Terrain Management, the latter will enable the X200 to display off-road prowess to match its rugged appearance.
Compete and discover

The X200 will compete against leading cars such as Ford’s Bronco, Bronco Sport, Jeep Wrangler and Land Rover Defender.
As for the date of the official unveiling of the rugged SsangYong car, it has not yet been confirmed;
However, rumors suggest that the debut will be in early 2022, with sales to begin later in Europe and Asia Pacific.
