The Verdict: With its strong off-road capability and its great off-road capabilities, the Ford Bronco should be among the top choices for any shopper looking for a vehicle to take off the beaten path and enter the off-road, and perhaps that’s why it ranks as the safest .
2021 Ford Bronco is one of the most enduring cars in recent memory, and the pandemic-related delay in its release has made the wait even worse .
(And the early launch of the Bronco Sport, it was possible, added to the confusion) But the Bronco’s body-fitted chassis was put on the tire and we got our hands on it, and this time we’ll be testing our first off-road Ford Bronco in Hill Country, USA.
A look at the Ford Bronco
The 2021 Ford Bronco has two very small and simple goals: first, to live up to the iconic Bronco name (the unrelated part of police chases), and second, to challenge Jeep Wrangler’s position at the top of the list of off-road SUVs.
And of course not small goals.
The Bronco is available in seven classes, which, like the Wrangler, cover different levels of off-road driving:
Basic category
: starting from $26,660
Big Bend
category
: starting from $28,160
Outer Banks category
: starting from $32,160
Badlands category
: starting from $32,660
First Edition category
: starting from $38,500

And unlike the Wrangler, Ford made the optional Sasquatch package, adding 35-inch tires, off-road suspension and more, which is available on all trim levels.
New Old Look “Design”

The Bronco looks big and bulky (I personally find it good), is a family-friendly car, and
its name hints at its capabilities.
Vintage details such as the grille design and round headlights are a nod to the first generation Bronco, as are the two-door models available.
But the Ford Bronco showed us a new model with four doors.
The new Ford Bronco is longer and wider than the current Wrangler, and can be shorter or longer depending on the trim level.
All doors and roof are removable, revealing thick roof pillars that house standard side-curtain airbags.
The doors are cleverly designed to be easy to remove by one person, as are the roof panels, but it is better for two people to remove the back of the roof.

The Ford Broncon features storage bags for removable parts, and removal instructions can be accessed via the digital owner’s manual in the center display or online.
And there’s a QR code on the bags that took me to the Ford YouTube page, where I could look up an instructional video there as well.
While the doors are removable, the Bronco side mirrors are not attached to the doors.
The new Ford Bronco design gives the Bronco a bit of Snidely Whiplash technology or a barista handlebar Sharp, and you can take off all the doors on the four-door versions of the Ford Bronco, and you can put it in a bag and take it with you like every Bronco fan loves to take off their doors.
The cabin of the Bronco is very functional
