A modern car bearing the fragrance of the long history of Volkswagen

The Volkswagen Polo – the historic super mini for adults – has been updated for 2021. And guess what? It’s Volkswagen ‘s mature, predictable and well-honed look for the long-range small car series now in its sixth generation.
Polo fans will appreciate the updated styling that’s packed with styling cues from the Golf 8. Under the skin, more changes are afoot, including the adoption of an updated infotainment system. The good news is that the Polo GTI will return in 2022, and hopefully it will cause more fanfare than the current, underrated version,

New look, you say?
Not really, it’s more of the same. No doubt, this is a mild facelift designed to align the polo star with the golf stork. So it gets a new front bumper and headlights much like its older brother – with a new LED light bar plus an annoying trucker IQ Light setting that gives the driver good visibility at night.
Highlighting the rear is a new badge that follows the current trend of boldly naming the car with a large central badge below the Volkswagen VW badge . This arrangement is flanked by new LED taillights, echoing—yes, you guessed it—

Golf 8. The Polo is also on the market with the option of sequential indicators, as found in more popular members of the Volkswagen Group, and suitable for the car that began in 1975 for modern life with its many requirements both in terms of the interior and information system of the Volkswagen Polo. What engines and equipment are available?
You can choose from three classes, the first with a capacity of 1.0 liters. The entry level is a naturally aspirated version with 79 hp, joined by a pair of turbocharged TSI engines developing 94 and 108 hp. The more powerful model comes with Volkswagen’s premium DSG transmission as standard.
Pricing and specifications have yet to be determined, but we expect the model lineup to mirror the Golf’s style. So you’ll start with Polo Life, followed by Style and topped off with the popular R-Line.
Not much has been confirmed about the GTI yet , other than that it is definitely back. But expect it to be powered by the old 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, even if it’s not quite as powerful as the outgoing model. How much is a Volkswagen Polo?
New technology it?
There is a lot. All new Polo toys come standard with Volkswagen’s innovative digital instrument cluster. The more you spend on your Polo, the bigger it gets — with the standard version measuring 8.0 inches, while those more awesome models with the Digital Cockpit Pro get 10.25 inches.

VW’s touch-sensitive panels replace the buttons and fine knobs perfectly on some models – so get in the habit of scrolling left and right to get all the heat you need. This arrangement is shared with golf. But you don’t have to have it in the Polo – buy a model with manual air conditioning and keep the old-school controls. Hello!
Infotainment is handled via a central 6.5, 8.0 or 9.2-inch touchscreen, and will be offered with Volkswagen’s We Connect system that relays traffic and handles audio streaming. It’s also nice that Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto are also included, although we hope they’re less laggy than we found on the Golf. Adaptive cruise control with lane-keeping assist is also available for the first time on the Polo.
Volkswagen Polo and its history
Volkswagen Polo has always been highly regarded, but throughout its 45-year history it has remained in the shadows of its older brother. You know the one we’re talking about, of course: the famous Volkswagen Golf. But this latest generation has finally found the spotlight, having brought the gap between the two models closer than ever.
This is because Polo has grown quite a bit over the years. Today’s model is bigger than ever and better to drive, too. Add to that a stylish, spacious interior and a solid price tag, and it’s no surprise that it doesn’t sell well.
Though, Polo finds itself in a very difficult category. There are some seriously professional competitors in the small car segment, and they are also getting stronger and stronger. These include the big-selling Ford Fiesta, the sports car Ibiza, the highly practical Honda Jazz and the comfort-focused Peugeot 208.
And the Volkswagen Polo can’t completely ignore the premium cars in the segment as well, which include the closely related Audi A1 and Mini 5dr. But in general, Polo achieved impressive successes in Britain and in Algeria, achieving good sales. I leave you with this video that presents Polo in Algeria.
