The name honors the vintage sports truck Barq with the famous SVT engine of the 1990s. But the F-150 lightning will be an all-electric truck.
Ford today announced that an all-electric F-150 pickup will be launched, and according to the automaker, the all-electric Ford F-150 will be called Lightning, according to a statement released by Ford, also confirming the reveal of the vehicle. Electric vehicle on May 19, and announced that it would be dusting off the dashboard of its newest legendary sports truck, the F-150. It became known as Barq.
Pricing for the 2022 F-150 Lightning will start around $40,000 for the entry-level model. The mid-level XLT will cost $53,000. Both prices do not include destination fees. They also don’t reflect the available $7,500 federal EV tax credit
Ford trucks that carried the historic SVT mark.
Frod boasted of it, and it was issued in the period 1993-1995 and called it Barq, and it was equipped with a powerful 5.8-liter V8 engine,
While it offered its direct successor in its ‘next lead’ from 1999 to 2004. A 5.4-liter supercharged mill, both versions were great, but let’s go back to the present, in the meantime, the new truck will be electric only.
It also looks like it will take on a traditional pickup form factor based on a short teaser that Ford released at the same time as the model name was announced.

The new Lightning we’re expecting for 2022 appears to be wider and longer, and while this teaser video also seeks to connect the all-electric F-150 EV truck with its internal combustion engine predecessors, which includes the original “T” and F-type The historic -1 Hamm was produced in 1948, and both models had the SVT engine and received the name Lightning.

Walking in front of each of those vintage pickup trucks, the representative said in the ad, Ford will build on its century-old truck history and take the F-Series brand into the future and “take electricity and turn it into Lightning.”
It’s a clever take on the iconic brand, which makes sense, even if the new Lightning isn’t quite as hardcore as its street-truck predecessors.
It’s not the first time
Ford has used a historic brand for an electric product .
The Mustang Mac-E, for example, has drawn its fair share of praise and criticism, the former for its excellent design and performance and the latter for its monstrous distinction that has led some to call it a pony – Brandon Turcus says it belongs in the same stable, because it’s worth having.
It doesn’t know whether the new F-150 Lightning will see the same feedback from the old sports truck faithful—it’s still a question—and it’s still in question, but if the truck was as powerful and torquey as the Mach-E, we doubt we’d have many complaints from it.

Ford tunes on the brands, the latest of which is the F-150
The world premiere of the Ford F-150 lightning is scheduled for May 19 (9:30 p.m. EDT) at Ford World’s headquarters
in Dearborn and will be streamed live for millions to watch.
Not only that, but the Ford F-150 electric truck’s live feed will also be shown in “18 influential locations outside of its headquarters such as Times Square in New York City and Las Vegas Boulevard.”
Ford seems to be taking the F-150 Lightning quite seriously, comparing its introduction to the Model T and Mustang, as well as some leading models from other manufacturers such as the Toyota Prius and Tesla Model 3. It has also put this electric truck model in Its website was preceded by the word “All Electricity”.

The
brief commentary from the CEO emphasizes some of the important features of the Ford F-150, such as exporting power to power the home during a power outage, higher performance (better than the original F-150 lightning truck) and over-the-air updates that will be available on the Ford F-150.
“Often, a new car breaks the status quo and changes the game…Model T, Mustang, Prius, Model 3. Now comes the F-150 lightning,” said Ford President and CEO Jim Farley.
The car of choice in America for nearly half a century, it has gone completely digital and electric under the F-150 name.
And the F-150 Lightning can power your home during a power outage;
It’s faster than the original F-150 that was described as powerful as lightning;
And its new version will be constantly improved with over-the-air updates.”

The Ford CEO continued, “The truck of the future will be built with quality and a commitment to sustainability by Ford-UAW workers at the Ford Rouge complex – which he described as the cathedral of American manufacturing and our most advanced factory.”
Production will take place at the
Ford Rouge Electric Vehicle Center in Michigan, while the new Lightning truck is scheduled to be launched on the market in 2022.
