The BMW X4 group gets a face lift .. with petrol and diesel options
It wasn’t just the BMW X3 that underwent an extensive facelift for 2021 — its coupe sister, the BMW X4 with all-wheel drive, the X4, was also put under the knife, a facelift that gave it a new look and included Elvis Lift inside and out. The German manufacturer, BMW, is seeking updates to compete with the Mercedes GLC Coupe brand that is now on sale, and the first delivery of the updated BMW X4 is scheduled for next September.
Like the X3, the BMW X4 underwent an exterior update that amounts to a sporty update, making it a standard model called M Sport, but in general, the X4 looks like a coupe-inspired. The new front-end design looks even more beautiful with this package of slimmer LED headlights available as an option with BMW Laser Light technology. A new kidney grille that is slightly larger and has an apron from the lower area, is redesigned with angular openings and vertical air intakes.
Likewise, the rear of the car has new updates, the BMW X4 gets a new lower apron treatment and redesigned LED taillights with new lighting signatures. Standard M Sport means the X4 comes with a darker exterior trim called the High Gloss Shadow Line, while 19-inch wheels are fitted as standard. These are complemented by the M Sport brakes with red or blue calipers. And an exclusive paint color called Piedmont Red is offered on the updated X4.
Inside, the M Sport cabin means a multifunction leather M Sport steering wheel as standard, along with aluminum interior trims with Vernasca Leather upholstery. Like the X3, the X4’s center console has been updated with new air vents taken from the 4 Series, while the console around the gear selector has also been updated, and the start/stop button is now added, no longer on the dashboard. As for infotainment, the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster matches the 12.3-inch central touchscreen system.
And we come with the standard M Sport suspension, where adaptive dampers are optional. Unlike the X3 range of engines , the BMW X4 has four options – three diesels and one high-performance petrol engine.
With xDrive20d technology, the BMW X4 is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine that develops 187 horsepower with 48-volt mild-hybrid assistance. With a starting price of £49,010, and fuel economy of 49.6 mpg, the company says the BMW X4 can accelerate from 0-62mph in 7.9 seconds. That is nearly 100 km / h in less than 8 seconds.
It is the only four-cylinder engine option in the X4 production line. But if you decide on another option, you can choose between the xDrive 2 xDrive20d technology, or the third version of the xDrive30d, which uses a 3.0-liter turbodiesel that develops 282 horsepower.
Acceleration from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) takes 5.7 seconds, top speed is 152 mph, while fuel economy is 46.3 mph with CO2 emissions of 159 g/km depending on the specification. Prices for the second option start from £54,410.
The M40d system option is the diesel option that tops the range, using the same 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine that develops 335 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. Pricing starts at £61,120, acceleration from 0 to 62mph takes 4.9 seconds, and the top speed is 155mph.
At the top of the range there is an option called the X4 M40i, and this option offers you the X4 with a powerful force, with 355 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, but the performance and this option matches the M40d in the rush of rush, achieving 4.9 seconds to reach 62 mph , or 100 km/h, but the top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph.
The least-expensive 2021 BMW X4 is the 2021 BMW X4 xDrive30i 4dr SUV AWD (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 8A). Including destination charge, it arrives with a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of about $51,600.Transmission: 8-speed shiftable automatic
